A lot of pessimism over Benitez staying. Let's put it this way - he'll be willing to listen. And if the board doesn't activate the clause* and actually want him to stay, I think they'll offer him what he wants. *a big assumption given their history, but they did go out-of-character by appointing Rafa in the first place

Surely they know the full-on riot set to occur if they activate the clause. And yet that won't stop them. I'm still 50/50 on whether he'll stay - I definitely think there's a scenario where he's willing to, it's just a matter of how much the board have learnt. Bringing him in originally was the first time they acknowledged that managers are important. Then we started winning.

I'd definitely keep Mbemba, Lascelles, Darlow, Dummett, Colback, Haidara, Mitrovic, Aarons, Armstrong, Townsend. Should be able to sell Janmaat, Krul, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Shelvey, Tiote, Cisse, Perez, Thauvin, Gouffran for quite a lot of money. But there's a few who we mightn't be able to get rid of - Anita, Riviere, De Jong, Saivet.
