This is the only time I've ever been confident for a derby, which concerns me Di Klanio will have them wound up, so we'll have to be calm and methodical to start with. Mackems are in wind-up mode on Twitter, like. Although there's a great narrative of Di Klanio getting his first win in the derby, if it comes down to actual quality (and lack of tiredness from Thursday), we should comfortably beat these. SHOULD!

Just get Perchy to wind up Reina again and it'll be fine
-
I've heard great things about his team mate Aymen Abdennour. Young, talented, plays centre-back....wouldn't be surprised if he was on our shortlist.
-
Already thinking of the pre-derby bets - traditionally betting on a red card pays off, so let's go for that. Also, Cabaye to score, Ben Arfa to score, both teams to score and Newcastle (-1) seems decent.

The Sunderland fans in CLS are embarassed with themselves, as they should be.
-
Aye but they're Sunderland, whilst we're in Europe semi-regularly.
-
He'll soon be toning his back by carrying the team on it, no worries
-
Chelsea get the easier draw again - getting to the final by beating Sparta Prague, Steaua Bucharest, Rubin Kazan and Basel We could've gave Fenerbahce a good go
-
Would love Barca vs Dortmund but I think it'll be Bayern vs Real. Mourinho leaving on a Clasico CL final would be class, though.
-
Yep. I bought a Porto kit in the Mourinho years but now feel dirty looking at it - when it comes to Portugal, I'm now a Benfiquista! Their fans have class.

Di Canio has pua lethal vision if he can see level 7 from the dugout. And extreme optimism.
-
According to the mackems we song about them all game.... According to the mackems, a hamper of spam is a sensible competition prize.

There's no way he'll bench Gutierrez, if only for his experience. Luckily, he's in the middle of a purple patch right now. Therefore the front four will be Marveaux, Sissoko, Gutierrez, Cisse.
-
Hadn't seen that
-
I still can't see the fatness, like Give him just 30 minutes against the mackems and he'll DESTROY them. He changed the game tonight - scary thing is that he wasnt even match fit!
-
Absolutely adore this player, I think he's brilliant. Would love him to be a regular starter for us
-
Slightly concerned that the players will be too tired but Sunderland really are shit. I trust the players to perform and fairly confident of the win - we're FAR better than them (just like we're better than Reading....) Krul Debuchy Taylor Yanga-Mbiwa Gutierrez Tiote Cabaye Sissoko Marveaux Gouffran Cisse SUBS: Elliot, Perch, Haidara, Anita, Obertan, Ben Arfa, Ameobi

Was superb tonight
-
Ben Arfa took the first corner after he come on, played it short and we looked much better. More of that, please.
-
Having just read the last 10 pages or so, I must say I'm surprised by the reaction to our performance. I thought we tried hard for all the 2nd half, we just couldn't get past them for a while. Ben Arfa & Marveaux changed the game. Was really happy when we went for 2 up front, made us MUCH more threatening. I just think we're so predictable and fruitless when its Cisse on his own.
-
Just returned from the game. First of all, tonight's atmosphere was phenomenal - it really made your hairs stand up. It was such an amazing night and our players were heroic. The 2nd half was unlike anything I've ever experienced, we had them on the ropes for a spell. Ben Arfa came on and changed the game, he's definitely ready for the mackems. The place got such a lift when he came on and he was fantastic. Don't really know what else to say, the match is still a blur. But it was a magical night. Good luck to Benfica, hope they win this thing. Europe: you were a laugh, we'll see you soon!

I'm excited too! Let's forward all of these feelings to homosexual activities. Nah, but you can.
