  1. What happens if Man City win the UEFA Cup? Is that an extra spot for 6th place? Despite the prospect of Stoke in Europe, I'm actually pretty pleased about this. Firstly, theres no hope of Sunderland getting in Europe. Secondly, if Liverpool don't get in, then I'd be more confident of Enrique staying. We were never ever going to finish 6th anyway.
  2. Just downloaded this now. Pretty excited about reading it, actually.
  3. Reading a very interesting book lately and they say that over the long term, the bigger teams will always be big and the small teams will always be small. And they're right, of course. That gives me hope for the future. This Ashley era has been a disastrous hell, but one day he'll go. One day he'll sell up, one day we'll have a good owner and one day the good times will be back. We just have to patiently get over this roadbump. It may be Ambani, it may be somebody else. But we'll get there eventually

    Graham Carr

Loved that interview and he reveals a lot too. Thinks we need 6 players in the summer and the way we've treated HBA's injury has been received very well in France (where we're still a massive club). Didn't know he's from up here either. And tbh I trust this man to deliver the goods....whether the club screw him over is another matter.
  5. Forster > Krul I just don't feel confident with Krul in goal.

    Sunderland...

Does he realise he's humiliating himself? He just says stupid thing after stupid thing......
  7. How the hell do Blackpool have no tradition? Pompey n all. It might be my youth showing, but surely all Blackpool have contributed to football is Matthews/Mortensen? And as for Portsmouth.....the bell guy and John Beresford, maybe? Both teams lack in trophies, have tiny stadia, are from lesser known places and have barely made a dint in English football. Maybe a bit harsh. But I could name about 30 bigger clubs than them.
  8. I'm an advocate of ridding the PL of 'nothing' clubs and replacing them with good, big, traditional clubs. Recently Boro, Hull and Pompey have thankfully went. Hopefully Wigan and Blackpool join them. I'd like Leeds, Forest and theres no point naming a third as it'll obviously be QPR. But yes, three awful teams would be nice too.
  9. It seems like regular Spurs target Luis Fabiano has signed for Sao Paulo from Sevilla, for 7.6m euros. Wow.
  10. Turk from Scrubs? Interesting. Can't say I totally get what Pardew is thinking here.....
  11. Of course he won't. That'd imply stability. Just when you think the cycle of managers will end, another victim is made.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

4-2-3-1 with Ben Arfa being the centre of attention (middle of the three). But then I wouldn't know where to put Nolan.....

    Sunderland...

Can kind of see where Quinn's coming from, in that the North East has great potential if utilised properly. But it's not as simple as he puts it. And theres a huge difference between a club like us and a club like them.
  14. You know what? Thats fine. Thats completely fine

  16. especially love the "YES! YES! YES! YES! BOOM!" complete with Pardew's fist shaking. gets better with each viewing.
  17. the media will do what they always do and blame the ref, the ball.....anything they can except the team itself. obviously the red card was shocking, but arsenal were completely outclassed by barcelona in every way. they were annihilated. looking at stats and the way barca played, they should be grateful that the score wasn't humiliating. zero shots, man but what a team barca are. tonight was total domination. some of their play was delicious, especially xavi's goal. they also should've had a penalty in the first half. arsenal can whinge all they want but deep down they know what we all know. FCB
  18. If everything goes to plan, Arsenal will mostly be nowhere near the defence. All giggly with excitement now!!
  19. Reina is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, whilst Carroll is a very promising young striker. It has to be Reina.
  20. can't see carroll having any longevity and banging them in into his thirties. but he might get a few this season and have two really good ones afterwards. not enough to payback the £35m.
  21. can see anderlecht being ripped apart in the summer. hopefully we can help with that.
  22. It's not really far fetched, just no one thinks it will happen. Me included.
