  1. It might be a strong rumour but I don't believe it one ionian
  2. He looks good but is he better than yohan kebabs?
  3. Dat first touch, and dat first-time passing
  4. IMO not buying the likes of Townsend and McCarthy in January has proved to be a mistake despite our promotion and title win. Selling clubs look at our squad and realise we need significant improvement, and so then add on an extra 5-7 million to the asking price. Naturally we find that even more difficult with our finances, especially with the insane jump in transfer fees this season.
  5. This is true. But I wonder what effect it has on the current squad being constantly told that they're not good enough? Genuine question. In reality they aren't good enough on the whole, but what happens to their morale if we don't strengthen as we should?
  6. Headline bottom left image reads: Going to Newcastle. Close to an agreement of 15+ million euros with the "magpies".
  7. He's weak minded and injury prone. A player who can't get himself motivated to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, won't find much mental strength or motivation to play elsewhere. He's a world class finisher and a decent player, but he's far too selfish when in terrible positions, and the rest of the time he trots around the pitch doing fuck-all thinking he's Messi. He's someone that a proper club would give a two year contract to, so he can prove his hunger and fitness, and I don't see him or his entourage accepting that to play for a club like Newcastle where he would need to pull his finger out and play to the best of his ability. Liverpool are stupid to still hold on to him purely for sentimental malarky. Not worth the hassle IMO.
  8. We've signed 2 players with virtually no experience of top level football and another who did OK in Spain. Stop exaggerating. The summer's been an abject failure so far. If you are judging what has been accomplished on July 25th with the criteria of what you expect from the window in its entirety, then of course it is a failure. The squad clearly needs to strengthen in a variety of areas, but there will also clearly be more signings. Only the most ardent of pessimists can really believe we are fully done. In my view, we've made two good deals and one mediocre one thus far, and need three to four more to be satisfactory. My real disappointment, is that it seems the club seemingly need to sell in order to buy, a financial reality that is worrying when competing in the richest league in the history of world football. We also have a very large squad currently, many of which were deemed surplus to requirements last season. The issue for me, so many players have question marks over them. We didn't exactly have a glut of players ending last season in form, only Atsu, Ritchie & Clarke really ended in form imo and because of that I'm worried that many will be overawed by the league. I would totally agree there had Alan Pardew been our manager and not Rafa Benitez. He's the only saving grace about the club at the moment.
  9. Absolutely disgusting. Am I missing something here? Do we WANT Burnley to be good?
  10. Towering player. Shame no one could understand a word he said.
  11. That's good for us Who gives a fuck about Burnley?
  12. Aye makes total sense. Afterall, we spent the Gouffran money on his replacement.
  13. I love how he always says "we". It's not only about him. He has no ego, not in the cuntish sense. He knows it's himself, his coaching staff, the players, the club, the fans, asking for the money to improve the squad. Benitez gets our club, and he just gets football in general. I would still absolutely love him even if we go down again this season. Been waiting a long long time for a man like him to be associated with NUFC.
  14. Because this generation/type of footballer is lame as fuck and thick as pigshit.
  15. I don't get this at all, mind. Elliot and Darlow just aren't PL standard. What good is it building a functional attack and vaguely solid midfield/defence if the keeper absolutely isn't up to his end of the bargain? Yup. Fairly certain Rafa is after a GK who can organise a defence properly, and then release the ball with precision. We haven't had one of those in eons. We've had, for the most part, pretty good shot stoppers and that's it. I'd rather a GK be involved in organisation, using his position to read the game, than having to pull out class saves all the time to bail us out because the defence is all over the shop.
  16. Brentford & Huddersfield were the two decisive goals he got. That's right. Scored a beauty at home as well when he turned and shot into the top corner. Can't remember who against.
  17. That goal away to Brentford was massive. Thanks and good luck Daryl.
