The amount of English accents in the Irish squad is ridiculous

I thought 'FC Rangers', or 'Rangers AFC' etc would have been their reform name? 'The Rangers' is a bit naff for me, like.

I wouldn't sell Hatem for any price. He's a match winner- as he's shown time after time- and is an absolute joy to watch. The type of player he is, supremely gifted, means he's almost irreplaceable imo.

I thought Walters looked impressive when he came on, like. Despite Cox being out of position on the left he provided the same lack of mobility as Andrews and Whelan in the centre. Still, it doesn't really matter who Trappa plays, there's not a whole lot of hope for Ireland. Imo he's got to completely pack the midfield as the movement and fluidity of Spain's midfield overload will completely overrun Ireland's static and rigid set up. Nonetheless, should be an interesting one!

As awfully pessimistic as it is, I feel that even if we do qualify from our group (which most likely wont be via 1st spot) we'll be eliminated in the Quarter-Finals. Chances are Spain will await runners-up spot from England's group.

He's made some canny goal line clearances for us, but that is completely outdone by the utter turboshit defending he's given us from his game on the whole throughout his time here.

I like the look of Portugal's team (on paper). But isn't that always the way. They'll do well to get out of their group, but there's no reason they can't be a surprise package imo. Have a feeling Poland could surprise a few people, too. And as for no Soldado...

Because of 2nd and 4th choice goalkeepers that almost certainly won't be used anyway during the tournament? Does depth not matter like? If Hart gets injured, we have to pick Rob Green or a 'keeper whose been playing in League 2 this season. If Casillas picks up an injury, they have the choice of three others who aren't a great deal worse than he is. Could be done for pretty much any position. Rooney's out for the first two, we have to go with Carroll or Welbeck. Villa is out for Spain, they now have the choice of Torres, Soldado and Llorente. That's before even getting to the likes of Negredo. Of course the squad depth does matter. But it's not that often the case that goalkeepers get injured on major tournaments. Yes, although you're quite unlikely to use four different 'keepers throughout a tournament, I read his post as a reference to the general strength in depth countries such as Spain have/we lack.

I too am content with his reign. I would classify myself as happy if it weren't for the vandalism of our beloved St. James' Park. It's something that really grates me. It doesn't matter how high up we win, it will still upset me.

I'd also like to see who we buy first before making any solid decision.

Do you really think it was the worst performance you've seen from NUFC? I can think of 5 or 6 worse this season. I know it sounds extreme, and I'm sure a few old-timers will pull me up on it, but I thought it was horrendous. Granted it wasn't our strongest line up, but as a collective it was a shambles. Our formation was a blob for most of the game, whilst our distribution and retention of the ball was sickening! How we won that I'll never know Saying that, performances against Wigan in the league cup under Souness were very grim, too.

Although it was possible the worst performance I've ever seen from an NUFC side, I thought that Obertans breakaway goal away to Blackburn in the last minute was immense! It put the game to bed, but the defiance of 'E-I-E-I-O' being belted out after that was special! I wouldn't say its my favourite moment but its right up there! Poland's team looks half decent! I think they could pull off a surprise or two, especially with home advantage. Can't wait for it to start after seeing the teams now!
