  1. Maybe elitism isn't quite the right word. Incompetence is probably more apt. Pains me to say it but where the hell is Torres? Lampard and Essien as well as you say. If VDS gets in for doing f*** all due to the defence in front of him, then Essien should be in for what he's done in the games he's been fit in alone.
  2. Further proof of the bias and elitism in English football. Can't really say much more without launching into a massive rant.
  3. Jagielka not amongst the 6. I give up.
  4. You don't have a god-given right to beat them just like they don't have a god-given right to beat you. Not sure what is so confusing about that.

    Obafemi Martins

Sounds like Shearer has got the firm-but-fair approach right in this case. Obviously not happy with him but not stupid enough to exclude him from future games.

He managed to fake being a footballer for considerably longer, he's a talent.
  7. Good to see they highlighted Fellaini's elbows, mind. Moyes sounded a bit like Phil Brown after the match. They asked the two blokes on the sofa who would finish higher, one perched himself on the fence, and one said Everton. Atlhough it was Steve Claridge who wouldn't give us credit if his life depended on it, the bluenose w*****. Some of your passing was very good today, true, but you pretty much disappeared in the second half, bar Pienaar's excellent goal out of nothing. All fans think the media hate their club. They don't. Anyway, lighten up, fifth or sixth, who cares, that's where we'll both finish. In the wider scheme of things, it doesn't really matter. We're both headed for the Europa League, or whatever the marketing twats in Geneva have opted to call it. I was fairly light, I just can't help but feel it could have been more And precisely. It'll be 5th or 6th in some order, and today was a game I could sit back and enjoy knowing it was unlikely to do much damage regardless, and I was just pleased both sides played with freedom and produced an excellent game.

And one less body at the back where you're...strong? I think having anything other than 4 in defence will just screw up your chances, tbh. It's the players themselves IMO that need to prove their worth. Defence is our best area, our best players are probably Beye, Bassong and Enrique. The reason we concede is down to the pressure on the defence, which results from the **** midfield. I do agree with this, and it's also the main reason Owen has sweet FA to work on, due to the ineptitude of the midfield and its general lack of creativity. I just didn't think the wing-back system worked whatsoever on Saturday, so I don't see why pursuing it would result in a different outcome.
  9. You dominate headlines and clearly get under southern journos' skin because of the fact you're such big news still.

  11. Some pretty shite analysis of our game. Completely ignoring the masses of good passing play we did today, nor did they highlight the blatantly wrong decision for their 2nd goal.
  12. We didn't do ourselves favours on some occasions, some of them were pointless free kicks to give away. But yeah, Webb completely caved in, the height of it IMO being when Jacobsen was looking to clear it, Young hauled him back by his shirt (play on), gets the ball, and crashes yet again to the floor, getting a free kick. Glad the b****** didn't score. What about Jo at the other end re: the pen claim? Honest question because I can't remember it very well. A possible shout? And yep, the 2nd goal was never a free kick. I'd be more pissed off if the game really meant something though. Mind as I say, the plus point of that was generally a hugely entertaining game. We didn't defend Carew well at all, mind, when he's on form, how do you defend him?
  13. He's hardly dirty, albeit reckless. For the penalty, did Lescott actually catch Petrov? Didn't seem conclusive. If he didn't, it was surely an indirect free kick. Why on earth was the 2nd goal a free kick in the first place? You're quite right though, a cracking game. Thought it would be due to our positions, give or take the order, being nailed on 5th and 6th. Was good to see both sides playing with a degree of freedom.
  14. First live Everton game in a while that I really enjoyed. Both teams were relatively free from pressure, and it showed, both just going for the win. The 3rd goal from us was a joy, something we just simply haven't done enough in recent times. Simple passing and moving, dragging the defence about, waiting for a gap, then suddenly a bit of movement, and our best player Pienaar with a delightful finish. The other main plus point was Fellaini. He still is far from complete, but he's starting to get a bit of form. His awareness needs to improve but he's getting there. On the downside, it's clear why most of our away wins are tight games, usually 1-0. Albeit it was good to see us go for it today, they just exploited the space more and more as the game went on. Only gripe regarding the refereeing I can really have was the 2nd goal, a harsh call to give a foul IMO. Awesome goal though. Also, beginning to dislike Young. Successive attempts at conning the referee into giving a pen were fortunately unsuccessful. But yes, a cracking game Edit: Would have been better if we got dominated but nicked a 3-2 win in the 94th minute.
  15. biggs AFAIK we're all set to have more than 22, more are welcome, get GG or someone to whack your name down. We're up for the idea of rolling subs if no-one else pulls out

    Nah they're safe. 100%.
  17. Yeah, their fans aren't the best. We had an eventful game at the Britannia early on in the season. The ref fell for the "if we get tackled and fall over it must be a foul because we're strong and stuff!" approach, and their fans are full of thick-as-shit cretins. I for one wouldn't be unhappy if they went down. Edit: I'm not even that fussed about the Delap tactic. Yes it's effing annoying and pretty damn awful to watch, but they've spotted a skill and utilised it.
  18. He hasn't done too badly from what I've seen. Well played by someone who doesn't seem to be near the first team much.
  19. Playing him in the first place should be a crime under statute law.
  20. Wtf was Guthrie doing btw? Giving the post a massage? Kieron Dyer's Teapot Stance Award is under threat.
