As are Tottenham...

It was introduced after Leicester just took the piss - racked up a load of debts and avoided paying them all off by going into voluntary administration to very little detriment. Various other clubs had dutifully laboured for years paying off those they owed, languishing in lower divisions in the mean time, and Leicester just dodged the whole experience. From what I've read, Southampton could have done exactly the same if they went into administration a week ago. Fair play to Leciester like for recognising it and exploiting it tbh.

Can Greg or someone crack biggs and geordiecunny into the OP? Both of them are looking to play but for some reason aren't on the squad lists.

True, but in football the fans are always made to suffer- their fault or not. But what could be done to the twats respobsible for misrunning the club? Its a tough one. But as someone pointed out in this thread, the distribution in money through English football these days is scandalous! Each year we see more and more clubs scrape by in terms of survival. The amount of money pumped into the Premier League is disgusting, imo. I know this is a much poorer standard of league and supported but I'll use the League of Ireland as an example. Cork City, one of the biggest teams in the country are on the verge of extinction....they have 2 weeks (just under, infact) to come up with €500,000 which is highly unlikely, yet around 3 weeks of Frank Lampards or Cristiano Ronaldo's wages could almost wipe out the debt. I'm sure there are lots of smaller clubs in the lower breaches of English football in the same situation as Cork. The Premiership has f***ed up English football. On the surface there's this 'best league in the world' look and tag to it. There's big stadiums, big crowds, all the biggest players and quick, exciting football. But if you look closer and dig a little deeper, there are clubs suffocating under crippling debts and battling just to stay in existance. rubbish. they just need to borrow more.

Which is about their level of ambition. It isn't actually, but considering our shitty start to the season, we should be happy with that. Sly dig If you don't sort out your starts to seasons though, you're screwed. It embarrassing as to the state of Premiership, but either SPurs, West Ham, or Fulham or going to be in the same competition as Everton next year. I guess so. But ultimately they'll have got enough points to get into it. No doubt Spurs will just complain about being in it next year and just wimp out once again, unlike what we did last season when we gave it a hell of a go.

Haha, that Irish Times one is one of the worst 'articles' I've ever read. Just some persons bitterness due to his beloved Leeds waddling about in League One.

As mentioned above, it seems it's just becoming the FA Final, which happens to have 2 teams competing for a cup. I just can't accept the sheer number of people who go to the 2 respective clubs' games regularly, who are avid fans, and who are not going to be able to the final due to the pathetic allocation. I've got no problem with a few thousand going on FA grounds, grass-roots stuff or whatever it is. Nearly half the capacity is just ludicrous, and IMO seriously dampens the atmosphere.

Can see us getting comfortably beaten tonight. Not sure if I'd be that bothered really as long as it wasn't demoralising, it's clear what our season is all about now. I expect us to get a decent return from the rest of our games though.

we havent won at home this year, but we will win the next three?...not I personally don't think we will now, but for the last month we knew that's what it would boil down to. Did we really expect much from Chelsea & Arsenal at home, and Stoke & Spurs away? i predicted we needed 10 points back then, the stoke point plus the three home wins, and as you say, we're on course. as i mentioned earlier, we also havnt lost at home this year against teams outside the top 4. in fact, we havnt been beaten since sept by a team outside the top 4. Interestingly positive stat that that i just checked out, you're right. Since september we've played 9 games at home against sides outside the top 4. We havent lost one. We have scored atleast 2 goals in 7 out of the 9 games....the other two being the 1-1 draw with sunlun without Owen/martins & the 0-0 with Everton when we went down to 10 men early. So looking at that.....as long as our strikers stay fit & we dont get any players sent off. We'll get atleast two goals and we wont lose the game. Pheeeeeew - We can all relax then. How many of those 9 games did you win?

So once again, it seems for the FA Cup final, around 35,000 of the 90,000 tickets are going to people other than Everton and Chelsea fans. My question is simple, and probably not very new. Who are these people, and how on earth can the FA justify giving so many tickets to so many non-supporters?
-
Just adds to the collection of recent excellent games: Man Utd-Villa, Villa-Everton, Chelsea-Liverpool etc.
-
Aye, don't think they will win but stuck a fiver on.

Arsenal 7-0 Everton.

I'm exactly the same, he is genuine quality when confident and playing in a half decent team. He's one of the last players we should be replacing in our current situation. For me it's been the blaring obvious nature of his mistakes that means he's been singled out. Bassong has made a fair few mistakes (usually hauling players down) but seems to be getting away with it. Just an observation.
