  1. We are but that doesn't qualify for Europe, i genuinely believe we are capable of that and think that is what we should be aiming for. Settling for just being OK and this result is fine but to finish top 6/7 you need to be winning games like this. Hopefully we win the next two games and end 2013 with 33 points, that would be a good return. Finishing high up is also about not losing games you could lose as well though. When you win 5 out of 6, the odd draw like yesterday against a team who you're competing with for one of those places just keeps things ticking over. True. Obviously any result other than a win in a home game against a team outside the very top places is seen as a big disappointment. Taken in isolation, a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton is disappointing (yes, they're a decent team but not much more than that IMO) but when combined with unexpected wins against the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, it offsets it a bit. I expect you, like us, to be challenging the European spots but much will depend on who wins the domestic cups.
  2. I was one of those idiots who didn't captain Suarez. Tried to be a clever dick captaining Oscar. He played 29 minutes. Still, not going to say no to more Suarez points. The cunt.
  3. Villa are an odd team. I sort of want to think they're this progressive, young, talented side who will finish top 10 potentially with realistic aspirations for pushing for the top 6/7. Yet, they don't appear to be very good at all. Interested to hear brummie's take on it as they still seem very inconsistent. I know he mentioned time and time again last year the fans were behind Lambert even in the darkest days because they saw he was trying to build something, but at what point does patience wear thin?
  4. Few decent in-play wins this weekend, Sociedad in particular today. Leverkusen however shat all over what could've been a brilliant weekend. About £50 up overall, can't complain.

    Football pet hates

Players getting fouled then sitting on the ground for a while, looking at the ref with an "oh come on, you have to book him now, right?" expression on their face.
  6. As much as I detest the twat, I can see why it's a red. Total stupidity from Paulinho regardless of whether you think it's a yellow or a red.
  7. Some of these Spurs players are simply playing poorly. Villas-Boas obviously needs to take some of the blame but some of his players are playing badly.
  8. Yes, yes it is. Now shut up and let Steeevie Geeeeeeeee speak.
  9. Didn't he do well? Nope, he didn't.
  10. Welbeck and Cleverley banging them in. Well I never. Or should I say "Welbeck I Clever!" Nope, I shouldn't.
  11. Enjoyed that, like. "Do you have any regrets about that tackle?" "No."
  12. Van Persie out for a(nother) month.
  13. I was, although the pubs probably weren't Midnight kick off won't go much better. If anything, it'll only increase the number of people out as it won't be seen as "too late". It's going to be total carnage.
  14. The last thing Everton & Newcastle want as long as we're in touching distance of Spurs, is Soldado scoring. May the drought restart. Well, yeah, I want all opposition players to have their legs blown off if possible, but in the absence of that, I don't mind seeing a good player getting unfair stick getting a few goals.
  15. It was an obscenely easy group for Spurs, but they dealt with it without any fuss. Good to see Soldado bag a few.
  16. Learnt my lesson with the Europa League. Unless there is some massive value, stay away. Group stages, anyway. Knockouts might be a bit better as a few teams begin to take it more seriously.
  17. What a total shambles the whole thing is. How can you "forget" about a suspended player?
  18. Increasingly likely I won't be able to play due to my knee, so I am putting my name forward for managerial duties for the Reds. I intend to wear the archetypal suit jacket/coat combo and bring a clipboard, notepad, Pardew glasses, 15 packets of Haribos and some frankly unbeatable tactics.
  19. Unsure why Juve can look so imperious in Serie A yet struggle so much in the CL against teams they should be beating. Same happened last year IIRC.
  20. Man Utd's group wasn't easy whatsoever. They negotiated it very well, and Moyes at least deserves some sort of credit for that.
