If it's going to set a precedent does it mean we're going to be rebranded 'Team Fat Cockney Penny-Pincher'?

When the alternative is going into the season with a 22 year old and a 35 year old with diminishing reflexes and the kicking ability of a spastic I know what I'd prefer.

Come to think of it, a forward pack of Elmander, Shola, Best and Lovenkrands doesn't fill me with confidence either. We need to spend some serious dosh.

Even if we were to sign two first choice forwards, Shola and Best have shown they're always weeks away from some form of injury breakdown so I'd keep hold of Lovenkrands for the time being. I'd loan Ranger out, possibly flog him if a decent bid comes in.

I thought he had a proper defensive midfielders game. Broke play and kept it simple.

The fact he gets down faster than an arthritis patient and doesn't wait ten minutes to distribute the ball makes him superior to Harper, even if he does have a lot to learn.

The lad's an absolute cunt bucket, would gladly pay to watch him get hit by a high speed train.

Should be a priority to tie him down on a lengthy deal, would love him to see his career out with us.

Krul still has improvements to make but he's a superior keeper to Harper, pretty poor if Pardew benches him as soon as the latter recovers, especially now we're all but safe.

Krul 8 - Did everything asked of him, controlled his area well too. Simpson 6 - Put in a shift, bit sloppy in possession. Williamson 7.5 - Excellent for the most part apart from the odd shaky moment Colo 8 - Class personified. Enrique 8 - Large pockets, kept both Nani and Valencia in there for the most part. Barton 7 - Great first half, went missing for parts of the second. Guthrie 7.5 - Had a good game, kept us ticking along nicely. Tiote 7.5 - Did what he does, best broke up play brilliantly, needless booking mind. Jonas 8.5 - Had the beating of O'Shea all night, covered Enrique brilliantly too. My man of the match. Shola 6 - Gave both centre halves a decent ariel battle, comical on the ground at times. Lovenkrands 7 - His best game in ages, missed a sitter but but in a fantastic shift, could of had a penalty too.

Played like a man who can't wait to jump ship at the first oppertunity.

Jonas goes down all the time, tbf. Yep. I'm going to put my tin hat on here, but I think there's a distinction to be made between going down easy and diving. Having said that it's a distinction without a difference, they're both unsportsman like.

Had a decent game. As long as he's never played in the same line up as Nolan ever again he'll make a canny squad player.

Jonas goes down ridiculously easy but I don't think he's every stooped to the levels of Nani's dive in the first half, horrible, horrible bastard.
