  1. As if its only his finishing that's letting him down. His all round game has been extremely underwhelming on an individual level. Possibly because he's in the wrong position, possibly not.
  2. Anybody who doesn't think both clubs up here get mint attendances is clearly a nugget, IMO.
  3. It's a small city in one of the poorest areas of the country with a shite team that never does anything to inspire. 40k against West Bromich Albion is a great attendance however it is achieved. As is selling 30k season tickets. Fair play to them.
  4. There's lots of things you can criticise Sunderland for but attendances isn't one. It's embarrassing patter really.
  5. Didn't think 3-0 wins could be boring but here we are. Some of the opposition are absolute shite.
  6. Stats are only good if they're backing up what you're seeing, and that lot looks about right to me.
  7. I would agree if his size was put to good use, it generally hasn't been. He doesn't put himself about effectively and the ball bounces off him most of the time. He's been at his best when games have opened up and he's had a bit more space to play with, putting in a couple of passable 2nd half performances. Of course Rafa's stubbornness with Diame is justifiable if we're winning games, and I'm generally not arsed in that case. But this #10 position is our biggest 'problem' at the moment.
  8. Perez has 8 starts, 5 goals, 3 assists this season. Diame has 11 starts, 0 goals, 1 assist. If we're persisting with this #10 there's only one option out of the two who should be playing from now on.
  9. The ball sticks to him better than any striker we've had since Carroll. He's doing a remarkable job with some of the balls we're sending his way, and how isolated he can be in our formation at times. He's no playmaker but he's no tap-in merchant either and it does him a disservice to criticise his all-round game, as some have, IMO. Whether he looks anywhere near as good in the top flight is another matter entirely, mind.
  10. Diame gave a 3/10 performance in the first half but he was pretty good 2nd, as was everybody. Standard win. Barnsley offered absolutely fuck all.
  11. Belgrade is a mint night out.
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2016/oct/14/desert-fire-the-world-cup-rebels-of-kurdistan-video?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_content=desert-fire&utm_campaign=documentaries
  13. What the hell did the lass' sexual relations with former partners have to do with the case? That seems completely bizarre.
  14. Good people! Cheers again. Thoroughly decent day, that. Rotherham your standard post-industrial UK town thats had it rough for decades now, but I'm loath to call it a shithole. Good pub, nice ale, canny stadium and all round a very hospitable town. Performance was fairly shite I thought and we made harder work of it as is completely necessary, but we weren't massively troubled by them and I'll take 0-1 away wins all season long.
  15. Agree. Its more out of thinking he cant possibly be this bad tbh.
  16. He looks like a player whos spent his career at the likes of Vallecano, Wigan and Hull. He's not imposing aerially, is lazy off the ball, doesn't get on it enough (apparently he had only 20 touches in 90 minutes against Norwich), and he loses it far too easily when he does. He takes too long to release the pass (usually the wrong option) and on top of it all he's missing easy chances every week. There was a couple of times in the 2nd half when we were breaking when he finally got the ball under his spell and played the right passes, but the space he was on the break its the least to be expected. It's not enough at all at the moment. I'd like to see play him deeper and see how gets on but otherwise I'm completely exasperated watching him play.
  17. He really hasn't been really poor like, people are being hysterical as usual. He had a match where he missed a couple of easy sitters and another where he lost the ball a few times, but overall he's obviously a very useful player and I think we've already seen that in a Newcastle shirt. He's been dreadful in every game I've seen him in. It's not hysterical at all. Pish again today.
  18. The worst thing about buying tickets on a game-to-game basis rather than having a ST is being more likely to sit next to absolute morons. Bloke behind me after the Murphy goal was shouting that Colback was "the only one out there trying to get us going'. This just after he had stood there and watched us concede. Just beggars belief really. Honestly despise him, and its intensified by the people you find that somehow rate or like him.
  19. going to this on me tod ffs, anybody want a pint with a miserable cunt give me a shout
