Absolutely awful game, two boring teams and clubs
-
I think the only way I'd ever properly like McClaren is if he sparked Pardew clean out. Hopefully there is now a building tension between the two to increase the small odds of this occurring.
-
No. It's an average, not a total, so they drag everybody else's average down. It could have been a bonus if they'd done very well, but by doing badly its a significant negative.
-
That's not a little. It's a lot. It's an average weighting so that will drag down Italy/England's whole ranking for this season. See Hull last year, and in Italy's case Udinese's penchant for going out in qualifying. But with them both going out its more or less blow for blow.
-
England still has a 3 point cushion or so for this season's rankings, which would determine next seasons' league placings. I'd say its unlikely that Italian teams do that much better (if at all). Last season was a significant anomaly IMO. The season after could be bad tho when 11/12 is removed.

Mate you literally called Lovenkrands 'Cuntenkrands' for about 3 years -
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that we're up against Italy, and Sampdoria ballsing it up too means we're OK. Very vague memory though. Nah, that was last season. It's so close this season that Italy no doubt will take the spot from England if they do well in the CL and England doesn't. Not if England did better in the Europa League. Competitions are equal in the coefficient points that are distributed.

Just got to hope he stops playing like a twat and Mbemba is ace I guess. I think McClaren wants some continuity/stability and sees this as an opportunity to do so, despite our abysmal defending in recent years Not sure what to make of it all to be honest, was not expecting this at all.

6 quarter finals in 13 major tournaments. Hardly amazing. And based on our record since 1966, it's not underachieving but probably slightly above par. Fact is other than 1966 England have been an alsoran at international level. God knows what the reasons for that are, but that's the facts of it. Nobody said it was amazing, man. Average isn't accurate. Is it not? I'd say its fairly average.

Gerson to Roma apparently.
-
Well I'd say he doesn't have the technical or raw physical attributes to be a worldbeater whether he was was 23 or 29. But he has enough about him to be a reasonable defender who will probably get better as he gains experience of the position(s). Not writing anybody off but judging a player as you see them.
-
Well exactly. And Dummett is a reasonable defender who does the basics well but will never pull up any trees. As most on here would agree. The idea that there's inherent bias at play towards or against academy players is nonsense.
-
Everybody hates young English players from our youth system, I mean, just look at Rolando Aarons' thread. Not to mention the widespread celebrations when Carroll was sold. Not sure why anybody brings up this shite about people disliking/denigrating academy players. It's genuinely utter nonsense. People judge players on their merits and faults as they see them.

Crease if Malmo dump Red Bull out of CL qualifying again
-
Conservative, tbh. Harry Kane is definitely a Tory, agreed
-
Gouffran bundled in some goals for us to be fair to the shite bastard. Obertan hasn't even managed that. Both should be given a one way ticket to the glue factory
-
Absolutely convinced Obertan will be his pet that plays all the time
