One of the most frustrating transfer choices in our history, Butt over Carrick. 7 years older and twice the price -

You’re mistaken. Putting a group together as one single voice makes it very easy for them to ignore. What happened on Twitter regardless of whoever organised it got plenty of attention. It was a mini trending hashtag. But more importantly the campaign to troll all of Sports Direct’s ventures over twitter caused them at least a small headache. It damaged their brand. It was effective. The next logical step would be to popularise it more, introduce a slight variation but aiming at more coverage, more posts, more retweets etc. All they have done is canned something that was organic and was growing. In order to have a successful movement you need to understand how to maximise your efforts on social media. This needs a digital marketing approach. This Magpie group should have had the cop on to ask people in the know before putting all of this to a halt. Nothing is stopping. You're absolutely mental. The twitter campaign has all but stopped to a trickle. Are you saying all those people who had been participating are now flocking to themagpiegroup.co.uk instead of mainstream social media? You’re deluded man. I work for a large digital agency who specialises in this area, I think I’ll trust my instincts/experience on this one! It's just an umbrella group that brings together all of the disparate groups. Nothing changes with the individual groups. Nothing has been canned. This just allows a united front / more coordination between the groups around protests and other activities. And there is still plenty of activity from @IfRafaGoesWeGo and @AshleyOut today, so what you're on about there I don't know. -

I know what you mean, but do people really care about "Sterry says the toon will come out fighting!" articles? They must do tbh, aye. There was a recent editorial decision to focus only on Newcastle and Sunderland at the cost of grassroots football and other sports and that must be based on some research of what their now small readership want to read. Losing access to the club would be catastrophic for them, the printed version would be finished after a few months of that.
-
(Rafa) You don't have to put on the red light.
-
Incredible that they gave Mourinho a new contract in January.
-
The Chronicle would fold without access to the club, it's barely hanging on as it is. It's a difficult situation for them given how ban-happy Ashley is.
-
I know wages are a massive factor but loans in that type of situation always amaze me. Juventus presumably trying to cover the €100m they spent on Ronaldo but decide to loan out a player they paid €90m for. Really weird.
-
Did Ashley not think he could make some money out of it?!
-
That last sentence is written the wrong way around
-
Mitrovic, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Cabaye, Carroll - that's 5 players Ashley has sold for £20m+, yet the most he's spent is £14m on Wijnaldum. So much fun being a selling club while raking in ludicrous amounts of TV money.

They'll be planning their next PR move as we speak, wonder if it'll be the club is up for sale again, nobody wants to buy the club so what can I do, I can't compete in this crazy transfer market, I can't commit to a manager that won't commit to the club, I've made mistakes but another few years TV money and we can start spending, I'm looking for investors to fund transfers, I'm determined to run the club on a sound financial footing, I don't charge any interest for the loan, I've spent x on transfers since 2014 and it didn't work... ... Or a combination of the above, or who knows - maybe some new bullshit we haven't heard yet. Every time the pressure is on he does or says something to weather the storm somewhat until the next storm comes his way, hopefully we're at a stage now where there's absolutely nothing he can do short of selling up and fucking off that would get people off his case. -
Thought we bid £22m or so for Plea after getting Dubravka in and have only spent £12m or so since. How strange
