I think it's even more annoying when it's Liverpool, who've been nowhere near the top 4 for years while we were very close last year. I've no doubt that many players would still see Liverpool as a step up, but it's certainly not the foregone conclusion that some papers make out it is.

I think there'll be so much competition for him that it'll be quite difficult tbh. We won't get into a bidding war on wages, plus young, English players don't seem to have the good sense to go to the biggest club that will offer them first team football these days.
