No idea why anyone with a cushy number doing the rounds as a pundit would ever want to give that up for management at that level. Fair play to him tbh.

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Absolutely, because that would likely mean we have someone very good starting ahead of them. If someone told me we'd sign Harvey Barnes, he'd score 9 league goals helping us qualify for the Champions league again I wouldn't exactly twist. He's been a great signing. -
Maybe they're waiting for a few resolutions regarding PL clubs v the Premier League before deciding a longer term strategy. That's all I've got, otherwise, what the fuck are they waiting for
-
Was it something along the lines of "We don't want to accept any old offer as to undervalue the opportunity?" Which is absolutely fine if / when a mega offer comes along further down the road.

I'm not just comparing the Barnes' deal with "some of the biggest flops" at all. We signed one of the most talked about players in the Premier League for £38 million, someone who had several years experience playing in the league. Why do you think they're quoting £60 million for the likes of Joao Pedro? That's the going rate for good players with PL experience. £38 million was on the lower end of what I expected us to pay. Christ, we sold Ayoze for £30 million four or so years earlier and very few were arsed that he'd left. -

In a world where Jadon Sancho costs £70 million, Mudryk £60 million, Solanke £60 million etc etc, Signing Harvey Barnes for less than £40 million is a great deal -

Imagine if our first signing this summer from a foreign club was for a British player

It'll be like the Simon Grayson season all over again

'Process driven' is not a negative term, right?

Whatever happens from here will be fascinating to say the least. We won't have another summer like last, that's for sure.
-
We finished 5th, that's exactly where a lot of people thought we'd finish at the start of the season.
-
He played 26 games last season, 32 the season before. Properly injury prone like isn't he.

Ederson and DCL -
We appear to be coaching players quite well, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento are there or thereabouts up there with the best in the league, neither were when they signed. We've signed a few highly rated youngsters, apparently beating the likes of Real Madrid and Barca to their signatures.

Miracles We had a good season but howay there's no need to exaggerate.

With Twitter, but not the overall decline in journalistic standards imo.

it's a good point like, if they can spend a billion on this shite just think what they could do for NUFC with less constraints. It's genuinely mind boggling that there hasn't been a proper legal challenge in the form of players kicking off about either being "forced" to move clubs or not being able to do so (as was pointed out on here yesterday by someone) due to lack of PSR headroom.
-
In all seriousness I'm still happy to be rid of Mike Ashley and see us competing in the CL. Until that feeling dissipates then I'm happy just to see us improve year on year. I'm just glad the mix of agendas all seemingly have the same end goal for NUFC.

PIF are definitely playing the long game, if they're playing a game at all.
-
Yeah and it's understandable, to a degree. However, it's been pointed out time and time again why we may not have signed anyone yet, but those seemingly valid reasons are repeatedly glossed over.
-
I agree tbh, was being slightly facetious, but I really do think we are a little OTT with our criticism and how much we clamour for any sort of rumour
-
Wasn't last summer supposed to be the worst window ever? We literally went on to win a cup and qualify for the CL. I think we'll be cush with only a couple of quality additions this time round
