  1. Has become a completely empty, predictable experience watching us, thanks to the incompetence and total lack of direction from owner and manager. Some fucking accomplishment.
  2. Would love Laudrup, but too much his own man for Ashley to handle I'd guess.

    George Caulkin

    Wonderful heartfelt piece, again.

    Match tickets

As has been said above, this is all very sad. I don't have a season ticket as I'm in the south, but my son and I had been planning to come up for a game or two in the spring. We won't now. He is 30 this year and I've brought him up a fan. After yesterday he's said he won't even watch us on tv anymore this season. I see his point. There's nothing to look forward to, no joy anyway. This particular time is one of the biggest lows I can remember in years, in terms of spirit and hope, and all the intangibles of being a fan. Still, the regime will change, eventually. Just have to wait this lot out.
  5. He always needed Cabaye as his brain on the pitch, without him it's down hill all the way. Reckon we'll be quickly out of the top 10 and he will be sacked. Maybe that was the master plan from the cunts at the top, who the fuck knows.
  6. Completely outfought and outplayed for the third derby running, a shameful disgrace.

    Shola Ameobi

Your last swansong Shola lad, make it a famous one.
  8. Of all of Ashley's pisstakes, this transfer window is the biggest. There will surely be an inevitable knock on effect on attendances now. Fans won't be having this.
  9. Link to full article, agent seems to confirm contact..... Newcastle United have entered into discussions over a potential €10million transfer of Benfica attacking midfielder Filip Duricic. The Premier League club's approach for the 22-year-old Serbia international comes on the back of Wednesday's sale of Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain. Duricic only joined Benfica in the summer following a successful three-and-half-season spell with Dutch club Heerenveen, but is understood to be keen on a further switch to English football. The Serb has been unsettled in Lisbon, with Benfica coach Jorge Jesus preferring to employ him as second striker rather than in his national-team position in the heart of the midfield. Benfica have been under pressure to raise cash from player sales to help finance the club's substantial debt burden. Club president Luis Filipe Vieira had hoped to achieve a fee of at least €30m for Nemanja Matic in the current window, but was outmaneuvered by Duricic's international teammate and forced to accept just €25m from Chelsea two weeks ago. A regular for his national team, Duricic has scored four times in 15 appearances for Serbia, including both goals in March's 2-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Scotland. “It's true about Newcastle,” his agent, Ulisses Santos, told One World Sports on Thursday. “I have been speaking with Alan Pardew this week so let's see what has happened by the end of tomorrow.” Newcastle currently stand eighth in the Premier League, three points behind champions Manchester United. The Northeast club is also interested in Clement Grenier and is understood to have had a bid rejected by Olympique Lyonnais for the young France international.
  10. Got a hunch he'll do well. Welcome to the madhouse, Luuk. Looking like you'll be the only bright spark around here this window, so we're especially wishing you well.
  11. If a number of the journos are right about our dysfunctional recruitment department, one can have no confidence whatsoever that any permanent signing can ever happen unless our venerable DOF is sidelined in the process. It's quite an extraordinary position for a premiership club to be in, and is probably the most unforgivable aspect of Ashley's ownership. If Ashley himself really wanted to get in a signing for the benefit of "his" club and the rest of our season, there is no doubt he could personally push through the deal himself within 24 hours. Everything else is bullshit.
  12. Has to be on at some point. A local hero's debut, hopefully!
  13. Will have to show at some point v mackems now, let's see how he handles the pressure cooker. Here's hoping for a stunning debut!.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Been good tonight, especially his through passing early on.
  15. Sublime today, some of the very best stuff he's played. Into "enjoying him while you can" mode, now though. His departure before next season looks inevitable.
  16. Made hard work of it 2nd half, luckily WHam missed two clear chances, but another welcome away win.
  17. Excellent until the last minute fuck up. Criminal really. Had them completely on the rack, now anything could happen.
  18. Carroll not starting is a bit of a relief. We definitely have the players out there to keep the ball and outplay them.

    Remy Cabella

At last some really positive news, if true.
  20. Had a simply excellent game sunday, and should have stayed on. Really admire his resilience this season, in the face of what seems to be a lack of full backing by his manager.
  21. Really pleased he has found his best form again. He has made a fine captain every time he's had the armband this season. says a lot about what he thinks of the club.
  22. Yeh, excellent analysis by Mills there. Hardly a consolation, but still....feeling slightly better.
  23. All the very best to Jonas, always a big hearted player. Frustrating at times, but ran himself into the ground time and again for the team. Has been a very positive influence at the club, so will always be remembered fondly.
