Was getting a real performance from his players today.

    Loïc Remy

Looking like a bit of a goal machine. Just an excellent finisher, from all angles.
  3. Best game for a long while. Here's hoping he can maintain this kind of form in the big games coming up.

Jonas for remy man! If you're gonna bring Jonas on for anyone surely it should be for cisse Sorry mate, meant initial changes in team selection. Seems Remy was injured, according to the commentary.

At least he had them right up for it from the start today, though you would think that was a basic managerial requirement. Our workrate was much improved. His changes were justified as well, so a good day for him.
  6. Excellent win in the end, held strong. Defence and midfield good today, and Loic of course!
  7. Well that's been a brilliant half. Some credit due to that manager of ours! We looked well up for it from the off today.

Pardew steers the blame towards poor individual defending, talking about making a couple of changes for the next game etc. But they look totally fucking disorganised and badly drilled as a unit, and have done in so many games now, which clearly points to some pretty shameful coaching.

Decent selection again, but the whole mindset of the team is suspect when teams get in our face. Our players need a manager they respect.
  10. Shameful how much we're being overrun here, no backbone in this team. Anita the only one pulling his weight.
  11. Well deserved spot for Gouff. Looks like he might be on the right, if so good move defensively as well, as his workrate will also help v Baines.
  12. My Dad left Newcastle as a very young man in the late 1920's and headed south looking for work. Eventually ending up with a tool maker apprenticeship in Kent where he settled and we were brought up. He was never really quite as obsessive a fan as his three sons became, my eldest brother by ten years being a lad during the 1950's cup wins and it was he who took me to my first matches during the early sixties, all away games in London. My brothers and I had to wait until 68/69 season for our first home games, when we all went up to an august bank holiday double of Everton and Notts F, both draws. For my sins I've passed it all on to my son, poor lad! Though at least he has had the Keegan and Robson eras growing up, that's not bad. Now, father and son, both non-Geordies, with the same inescapable attachment, and the lineage continues....

No bollocks tonight, time for taking some responsibility for how the whole thing imploded.
  14. Rehabilitation match for him, unspectacular but think he came through. Think we'll see much more of him in the games ahead.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Wonderful that he's at our club, a jewel of a player! Who knows how these things are decided, but if he keeps this up he must soon go down in the club's hall of fame, of players of a certain type of special skill and star quality. Jimmy Smith, Tony Green, Peter Beardsley, David Ginola, Lauren Robert. Hatem may soon be part of that lineage. Maybe he is already!
  16. Deserves a start ahead of Papiss at the moment, would be good for both of them. But it looks like Pardew just sees him as an off the bench player, and always has when the other forwards are fit.
  17. Excellent 3 points that, well deserved in the end. Great last 20 mins, after a hairy start to the half, they crumbled with our second. Hatem great as usual, also Debuchy very good today.
  18. Excellent workrate from the lads today, forcing them into mistakes. Good stuff. One more and the points should be ours here.
  19. Going to be an important squad player now, we're going to need him to do well. Hope he takes his chance.

The statement stinks. Would not be at all surprised if Pardew was just told his name would be on it. Its an amazing state of affairs really, when you just can't trust anything about the club at the moment.
