Good post. Just frustrating that the Club’s ticketing team. Chain of: Dan Ginger Yvette Thompson Steven Tickell Clearly don’t have a clue on what football ticketing, atmosphere, value of match day experience actually equals. If they get it right however…the Club and customers (fans…but I feel like a customer atm) will be happy.

That says it all about the demography of ST holders tbh. Say there’s 35,000 ST holders. 5,200 + 1800 in the corner = 7000. Only 20% bothered about standing (and no doubt singing majority of the game).

Absolute fucking pet hate of mine. Stand for 10 mins pre game. Stand for 15 mins at HT. Unless you’re literally frail and unable to stand for 45 mins - I don’t get it

Agreed. Baffles me when some say SBR should have the East Stand name after him. It’s great that he has a statue, but KK absolutely needs one in his lifetime - I’m sure he’d be humbled one even if he says he doesn’t want one. SBR was a great bloke, a great manager. Did a very good job at NUFC. And it was great that he was a Geordie too. He did much better elsewhere. Arguably he has nearly been surpassed by Eddie Howe already however.

If they did knock down the East Stand and rebuilt it within its current footprint in a more ergonomic way - do you think with safe standing you could fit more in than currently sit? Imagine a full East Stand safe standing anyway

Sounds daft, but it’s the continuation of history. The East Stand is connected to the old Edwardian West Stand, as they were both in situ at the same time. And with the East Stand it has been developed to what we now know today. If the East Stand was knocked down, that connection would continue on to the new Leazes and Milburn. Sounds stupid, but there’s something in that continuation for me. It makes it real. Moving just wouldn’t do it for me. Even if it guaranteed my ST back
