The Royal Arcade was taken down brick by brick, and numbered to be rebuilt. And they ‘lost’ the numbers apparently and couldn’t rebuild it. A lot of the stones are in Heaton Park and littered around Byker, Walker I think. I’m sure @manorpark will confirm

Agreed. Gallowgate atmosphere is a total myth. Strawberry Corner makes it seem better than it actually is. Leazes was always the original ‘end’ for Newcastle anyway. Imagine the top of Level 4 corner in the Leazes stretching up to Level 7? Now that would be class.

Was in Level 7 and was very impressed for once m. Plenty of standing (including in the non safe standing) and some decent singing going. At times it almost felt like the old corner! Plenty fucked off after the second went in however. Genuinely unbelievable.
