Being a Nipper at the time, and very aware of the 12 point lead and the League Cup Quarter Final Ginola game, I’ve never really been aware of the FA Cup match. I’ve looked back through the results and our season really cocked up within a few weeks. Out of both cups and the league form started to suffer. Must have been horrible to watch.

I was at the last home LC Quarter Final vs Chelsea in 2006 when we lost 1-0. Just checked the attendance and it was 37,500. The club really feels a different beast these days.

Been saying this for months/years. Yep, he may not be a great footballer. But he bottles everything. It’s sheer cowardice. If you’re a supposed Newcastle fan, you’d die to make every challenge, every 50/50 etc. You don’t need talent to have that basic instinct, which he doesn’t have. Pathetic really.

I've put a scarf on the wrist quite a few times during the season, it's actually quite comfortable It gets too hot wearing a scarf in the summer sometimes... Not sure I could wear a butcher's coat mind. Happy for that not to come back

Isn't that literally what football is about? As much as it has hurt that other clubs have won the League cup/FA Cup and we haven't... isn't it great that since 2000 the following clubs have won?! Leicester, Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Swansea; Portsmouth, Wigan, Leicester. If they had it their way literally nobody would ever win anything else. What utter horseshit man
