  1. Seeing Michael (miss) Gray almost in tears on The Championship on channel 5 due to Preston not getting an injury time penalty has just rounded my day off nicely.
  2. He now has the best win ratio of any manager in the history of Newcastle United (60.7%).
  3. Actually 34 is punishable. 31 won't get you into trouble. I got done for doing 33 in a 30 zone about 6 years ago. Had to go on one of those speed awareness courses.
  4. Arsenal are hopeless at just killing games off. Seen it all before. They're totally dominant and don't give the opposition a sniff but mess about and don't get the 2nd goal and are punished by their opponents first meaningful attempt.
  5. Bet they win today. Just the sort of game Arsenal tend to make a mess of.
  6. Let's get out of this division first. This. Where we'll finish in the PL next season is a topic for another day.
  7. Preston won't want to face Mitro again after Tuesdays performance.
  8. I wouldn't bank on that - Arsenal want trophies and Rafa delivers them. Look at Everton under Koeman, he's a good manager but he has hardly had the instant impact that Rafa has had on NUFC. Arsenal are under pressure from their fans to win silverware - esp to challenge for the PL title - and a manager like Benitez is their best bet of delivering that. I have no doubt that if Ashley supports him in being able to challenge the likes of Arsenal in the transfer market, he will stay at SJP - he has more to gain here. If Ashley doesn't, he would be attracted by a club like Arsenal because they would offer him a better chance of challenging the top 3 and obtaining CL football. After experiencing the fickle nature of London football fans first hand whilst at Chelsea I'm not sure how keen he'd be to jump ship to Arsenal who's fans have been hounding Wenger for years now and demand titles despite having far lower resources than the Manchester clubs and Chelsea. He seems to love it here, he's adored by the supporters and I think that's something that's very important to him.
  9. Almost brought a tear to my eye did that
  10. Thought they weren't allowed to do that. When we played Sheff Wed away last time we were in the Championship they charged us a fiver more than their fans and ended up getting fined and we all got a £5 refund.
  11. Barnsley went to general sale. Think Wigan and Reading might as well so there's hope for those without season tickets.
  12. Posts as neesy111 on here. You finished counting the crowd 1 by 1 yet? Got to 45,864 and lost count so had to start again Kriss.
  13. Yet he gets virtually no stick at the match.
  14. Aye it's clear he should be playing deeper than he has been. He's a total waste playing off the centre forward. When we signed him I thought he would be a canny box to box midfielder but I'm not sure he's got the legs for it.
  15. Discourages stupid queues. People have had weeks to get tickets! With midweek games a lot of people have work commitments and don't know if they can make it until the day of the match, sometimes last minute. Understand why they've done it (for the reasons you've mentioned) but £15 would have been fairer rather than doubling the prices. Also should have allowed cash turnstiles in Leazes level 7 because that will be empty tonight as Preston only bringing 1,000. Still 45,000 is a remarkable show of support from the fans for what is a League cup 4th round tie between two 2nd division clubs and I think we're now showing Ashley what he could have had all those years ago if he'd ran the club properly. As a comparison, Sunderland got 13,000 charging the same prices in this competition a few weeks ago v Shrewsbury and when they played Man Utd in the Semis a couple of years ago they only managed 31,000 with 6k of those away fans. As for the team I expect Sels, Hanley, Mbemba Lazaar, Diame, Atsu, Hayden and Mitrovic to come in to the starting XI. Nobody gives a f*** how many Sunderland got man Well don't pass comment then you absolute cretin. Someone's got to tell you, it's getting embarrassing. Couldn't care less. I find 99% of your posts embarrassing/cringeworthy but I'm too polite to say so.
  16. We certainly have a smallish mong element in our fanbase who, no matter how well we are doing have to single out a player to have a pop at. Diame and Dummett get it from the matchgoing fans and Colback gets it on here.
  17. Seems that the players just love playing for him and have really bought into his rotation policy.

  19. Ticket sales end at 5pm tonight as well for anyone planning on buying a ticket after work.
