Between Iraq and a hard place

If I'm wrong - more than happy with that.

They're going to let him have his 1000 games. The PIF are in some ways needing to extend olive branches to the PL etc - binning off a bizarrely popular member of the Man United old boys club in a debatably 'undignified' fashion will be a BR stick to beat them with. Difficult balance to strike objectively - with fans its pie Bruce off tout suite and invest but there are other political games to play imo.

To be fair to squires. Everyone is fair game with him - might feel a bit barbed but masters gets some stick, the PL and Saudi. There are to be fair fans indulging in KSA glorification even if unwittingly. It's the price of the deal unfortunately. I do think a lot of the legitimate conversations being had on this forum are being overlooked, ignored as it's not exactly a hive mind of Saudi backing despite what various podcast and journalistic entities may portray. What's largely ignored is the legitimate grievances with Ashley which then need to be compared to human rights abuses.

Aye you’re right actually but he literally does nowt ?

He’s the last vestige of celebrated failure. Of course we’re anxious to see him gone.
-
He has one business model. Tells himself he’s the greatest business man there is and when it doesn’t apply to football it has been football’s fault. Needs nowhere near sport
-
He's spot on like.

When was your last game and when is your next one?

Brighton away and Brighton away. It’s going to be full circle. -
It’s going to be mental getting wound up at small stuff like ref decisions and the small stuff again. Y’know the actual football. I’ve been so hung up on the big picture and culture with Ashley and how the team leadership has been beholden to that - it’s going to be so weird talking about who has the better final ball or goal record again.

You never know until you experience it. The contempt, the callousness. Rangers have, we have. He’ll makes a team ‘stable’ on a spreadsheet and everything else is a skip fire. Stadium name change. Signage. Club shop rinsed - the lot. Sadly it takes time to truly know.

Cheers man. There’s due a meet-up down here to emulate the other day and Brighton looks a big day for us.

This arrived today. Well chuffed

Haha I’ll fetch the blue touch paper and the gunpowder.

What better way to diplomatically endear yourself to the PL?
-
I mean this. Ideally from a cannon. into the side of marsden rock. but I do wonder whether it’ll be a case of let a Man U legend leave with ‘dignity’ after his 1000 PL game

Thanks mate. Strange where the emotions take you but exciting times.

This thread has prompted some reflection. I left uni in 2009 and shortly after became a teacher working schools, prisons and universities. I’ve been abstaining attending home games since McClaren. I actually used my uni space booking powers to arrange anti Ashley London meeting of the London Magpie Group. I got marrried in 2014 and I think in part the fight cost me that - such was the time I devoted to it. I have no regrets all told as I am in much more level headspace but maybe the real protests were the friends we made along the way? Going to be emotional returning.
