  1. So surely the choices are either buy a better striker than Gayle or someone willing to sit on the bench. The first option won't happen, given that Gayle is the leading scorer in the league, and the second option is just the same situation as the Murphy transfer. Pretty much. If mitrovic is the backup then fine, if it's someone else then that's fine too. We have players who can cover in gouffran and Perez as well as Murphy and I'm Rafa would push for a replacement if he needed them. The caveat being we'd likely need to review it in depth again if and when we are promoted.
  2. I'd like to think he'd be replaced. IMO just think if he's not part of the plan it's not worth worrying about him as much as I like him. Precedent would suggest that one striker is the chosen flavour - reinforce that plan how you can.
  3. Like the bloke and it's a shame for him in the sense that you just can't, rightly, drop Gayle. He's a vestige of the former way of doing things so if he goes it's no great shakes. All the best and that.
  4. Having colback, Dummett and goof so closely linked has us so benign. Hayden to a lesser extent.
  5. If he gets brought back (disclaimer- he won't) and Rafa takes a punt bravo and if he doesn't and it's because he doesn't fit in with the plan then fair enough too - at least he has one and isn't cutting his to spite his face due to petulant egotism. Can't see him as rafas type and likewise, I love the bloke.
  6. Raffy new year chaps and chapesses
  7. Silly me. I forgot I'm not allowed a high horse in case I chin the fetlocked cunt.
  8. I don't really care for engaging in this sort of tit for tat but how can you watch the Adam Johnson thing play out and then with no hint of irony go on about one dickhead punching a horse. 2016 for you.
  9. They seem to 'burst out laughing' at almost anything. Like a nervous tick.
  10. Last time in the championship we didn't have Colback in midfield. Aye, we had Alan Smith Unfortunately for us right now, Smith back then is a hell of a lot better player than Colback now, and Smith was certainly no world beater. Smith was ten times better than Colback man. No question. Especially in this league. You think opposition mids are more worried about Colback than they were Smith?! At least Smith had the athleticism to win headers and run them down, and at least force them into errors. Colback doesn't phase them one bit. Not having that like he was about as mobile as a double decker. Bus or chocolate, just curious. Obviously. You rascal, i've got one in the fridge and now i fancy it. What type of fridge - double decker?

Colback is worse than Alan Smith. Fetch the yard chairs paw, we got ourselves shit-off!
  12. He's due a bucking of that trend. You can't just always be good for a year or less. He's getting his rep now.
  13. I think the concerns expressed are legitimate and I appreciate we should always be the best we can be in the league we are in, though personally I see no glory in a paper trophy but it would be nice. The thing that stops me from worrying is that the man has the talent and more importantly the capacity to learn from mistakes and if the same issues are coming another quarter of the way in then I'll be more concerned. We haven't had that in a decade; just boorish, narrow minded oafs that we've been told to get behind and put our faith in.
  14. All that big club debate nonsense is all well and good and we are a huge club. We've been run for the past decade like Rushden and diamonds however, and should see the progress towards the big club potential as a sliding scale rather than a flick switch. In plenty happy in the league with manager that gets things wrong over ones that get nothing right and don't admit to it.
