Well, whilst you can debate whether to give him credit for the team's performance or not, one thing is for certain, this shite about being undermined by Ashley/innear spouted in the media has been truly dispelled as myth. Villa are a good example of lower spending with ambition. It's yielded mixed results for them but at least you get a sense of hunger; the efforts to keep benteke for example and the selection of a principled albeit flawed manager. Professionally they are lightyears ahead , but it would require no difficult change.

Problem with this dick is he is an enabler. Whilst I'm sure there are those who would happily work under Ashleyism and probably will in future; loads of managers wouldn't and it would force him to run this club with something resembling principles.
