Alan Smith is the single worst player I've ever seen in a shirt. There not comparable imo. Jonas shouldnt start on current form however.

That was taken a fortnight ago; after an intial misunderstanding after talking to Pardew about adding some weight to the defence.

I get the criticisms of Jonas but I do think some views are harsh. He was one of the main reasons we looked a cut above in the championship and despite a dip in form over the last 12 months is as commited as anybody. He's no Iniesta and at the same time at his best he isnt/wasnt half as limited as people make out. People who are waxical lyrical about the club needing to get rid whilst hailing the likes of Ryan Taylor as a fantastic squad player (I agree to extent fwiw) need to give their heads a shake. Its possible he's reaching his autumn years but he still has a role to play at this club.

It could be argued he's under more pressure now than before as his list of excuses just halved in the last week. He needs immediate results now. I think the players will obtained will do a good job of masking that; I have no doubt he'll keep his negative tendencies though, which will inhibit if not quell comppletely our attacking potential.
