Which coach has the initials TM? Is he actually a dwarf?
-
Absolutely bizarre that on one of those Chronicle polls on what fee we should sell Wjnaldum for, the figure that has the highest number of people voting is 14-16 million.
-
Used to be good on FM. That's all I know.
-
Would be ridiculous if we don't get a minimum of at least £40 million for Sissoko and Wijnaldum, given the other prices floating around for other players.
-
Would be absolutely mad to take only 12 million for sissoko.

Went to the Wales vs Russia game and the atmosphere was electric. Must been even better now. I'm a quarter welsh as well so I'm taking this.

Get in - brilliant performance.

Matt Ritchie (now Technical Director at Bournemouth)

A lot of Bournemouth fans seem pretty disappointed about this - http://www.bournemouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=76402&start=81 - which has to be a decent sign. -
I realise that this is nothing new, but I'm slightly concerned at the number of players we are going to have to buy and then bed into our team before the season starts. It's quite conceivable that we will lose Cisse, Tiote, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Janmaat, Coloccini, Townsend, Krul and Thauvin at a bare minimum and might struggle to keep hold of Perez and Mbemba.

Didn't West Ham bid quite a lot for Ritchie recently? -
Gayle has got pace which is definitely something we lack upfront - but seems like quite a high fee for someone who hasn't exactly been prolific.

Suspect there'll be a fair few teams who try that. Sounded brilliant when Icelandic fans did it.

Obviously there are many many problems with the England team, but I just think the continued shoe horning of Rooney into that team in a position that he hasn't ever played just epitomises everything wrong with the set up. We obviously have a long and glorious history of trying to fit players into a team even if it is totally inappropriate, but the Rooney decision even surpasses the Scholes on the wing and Lampard/Gerrard crap. Seeing Rooney in midfield was like watching us with Shelvey - everything has to go through him, no matter how much it slows our game down. Was analysing some of his passes last night and he seemed intent on playing those kind of slow sweeping passes (not even Gerrard Hollywood balls) that might get a ripple of applause for 'spreading the play' but in reality reach their target so slowly all options close off and/or are usually hit so poorly that the recipient of the pass has to stop to get the ball. He is not a fucking midfielder and never will be.

How hard is it to go a football match and just have a quiet drink and be respectful of the country you are in? -

Supposed to be going to the Wales v Russia game in Toulouse with my wife, my brother and my brother's girlfriend. Pretty terrifying seeing that footage above. -

Genuinely embarrassing stuff - makes me ashamed to be a football fan. Just can't get my head round the need for people to go to football and get hammered in the first place, let alone how empty their fucking lives must be to feel they need to go and have a fight. Surely some effort to insert something meaningful into their sad lives. -
Neither does the NFL tbf They're not good, but it works. The choreography is great compared to this bullshit. You should take a look at the London Olympics if you think we can't match the US.. That's not at all what we're talking about here. We all know the olympic opening ceremonies are canny every time. Well - it kind of is… you're talking about choreography at sporting occasions. Seems a bit odd to draw a distinction between the Olympics/Superbowl/Euros personally. Anyway - not really important.

Love Nice - such a great city.

Loaning out our higher profile players for a season isn't exactly the worst idea in the world. Means we don't have to accept any bids that aren't as high as we want (I don't believe that Rafa wouldn't come under pressure to accept some bids, regardless of what's been said), might mean that our players (Townsend) don't exercise release clauses in their contracts if they want to stay but don't want to understandably play Championship football, will take some of the higher earners of the wage bill and will allow us to retain players who, under Rafa, might flourish (Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Mbemba etc) and that we actually want to keep but don't want to take a year out of their career.

Think Koeman would be mental to leave Soton for Everton.

In fairness, there have been quite a few articles over the years that have said Carr has recommended a series of very good players and we haven't gone out and got them and ended up with players some way down his list.

Just asked Rory Smith on the Times webchat about Rafa (he wrote a book with Rafa I believe) and he said: "From what I'm told, it's all going quite smoothly. Some brilliant people have intervened to try and get him to stay. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to disseminate it yet, but it's looking like he will."

I just can't see Stoke giving up this early to be honest. They're a decent team with a manager who isn't going to want to give up their chance of their best ever PL finish.
