  1. Taylor is a good enough CB imo but his injury record just doesn't make for good reading.

Really wish Cabaye buried that free kick, would just be the perfect tribute to the lad.

Still a long time out but extremely pleased it doesn't seem to be an Owen-esque one that forces him out for the season.
  4. These are the types of games that Tiote thrives in, and his passing only appears to be crap because often at times at home he's the one taking responsibility and trying to make things happen when others around him aren't doing anything, which we all know isn't his game. Away games when we're under more pressure, when we're trying to get a result is when he shines, winning the ball back, keeping possession ticking over. So you're totally wrong tbh. If I were you I'd hope he's out injured. Was the game two years ago Tiote's first start for us? I remember him being absolutely fantastic in that game, and I have no doubt that he will be if he's fully fit for this one too. Tiote had a 100% passing rate in that Everton game too.
  5. Rather do it now and edit in case I forget. GW4: 1. 1-1 2. 2-0 3. 1-1 4. 2-1 5. 4-1 6. 0-2 7. 1-1 8. 0-1 9. 1-2 10. 3-1
  6. Krul Anita Taylor Coloccini Santon Perch* Jonas Ben Arfa Cabaye Ba Cisse *Tiote if available. Customary 3-1 defeat, even if our team looks decent on paper. Just not enough people firing on all cylinders. 2 early second half goals (Considering our poor starts in previous games) will kill us, and a Hatem goal in the second half will be quickly followed by an Everton clincher.
  7. He just fills you with more confidence than any of the other youngsters we would bring on. Still not perfect but you know he'd give his all.
  8. Please just put Ba at LW or use one of them for Europe and another for the league please.
  9. Both the delivery and the routine needs sorting out. Even if we do settle on someone who can take a really good corner, it's so predictable where the ball would end up, that being the tallest centre back we have. Some routines which I think would make for a good rotation would be... 1. Sending it to the tall striker at the near post (Shola/Ba) who'd either poke it in or flick it onto an instinctive goalscorer like Papiss. The tall striker has to be running toward a ball being curled towards the goal. 2. The short corner played to a fullback, who passes back to Hatem, who then dribbles his way to either cross or force a defender to take him out for a penalty. (Spurs game) 3. The odd one aimed to the outside of the box to be met by Colo's curls (Wigan away 2 seasons ago ) or someone who can strike the ball. (Anita/Cabs/Tiote ) 4. Hit it long and aim it to the other side of the pen box, where someone can claim it to hit a dangerous low cross when everyone's dragged out. (Ba's set-up for Cisse in the first half of the Villa game) The tallest man tactic is just used far too often that it gets too predictable for other teams to defend against us. A bit of variation, coupled with a bit of kicking practice would really be needed as we keep winning these corners week in week out only to absolutely waste them.

Disagree. Cramming Pards. You had 2 months to sort it out, that's what happens to people who wait till the last or procrastinate until the issue rears it's ugly head in front of you.
  11. Krul - 6. Not much to do but decent handling of crosses. Simpson - 6. Solid, injured early. Taylor - 6. Not bad, not good either. Coloccini - 7. The only CB who can get some credit. Santon - 5. Good attacking but was the weak link in the defense imo. Ben Arfa - 8. MotM. What a player. What a thunderbastard. Dragged us. Cabaye - 5. Unfit, poor deliveries. Only thing of note was the decent free kick. Anita - 7. Great at both CM at RB. Still early days but think he's our best right back. Jonas - 6. Worked hard but poor deliveries. Ba - 6. Had that good set-up for the Cisse chance in the first half but was pretty anonymous. Cisse - 5. Invisible. Where is the real Cisse? Bigirimana - 7. Confident for such a young lad. Still raw, but the endeavor was there. Had those excellent blocks too. Obertan - 6. Decent impact, but why not earlier? Marv - 6. Anonymous. Mainly because he's the type of guy who needs to come earlier to settle the game before he can dictate it. Pards - 5. Subs were too late, defense wasn't as organized as what we're used to, 4-4-2 still. Awful result which I will take because we were terrible on the day. Feel for Hatem, the only one on some sort of form in the club at the moment.
  12. f***ing hell, we're so desperate we tried even Krul on our set plays. And it still did not come off.
