Shocked to see negative criticism of Santon in here. Watched the game as a neutral and he was my man of the match until Ben Arfa won and converted the penalty. Top class performance IMO.

Fullback too, Evra has been on the slide for about 2 years and Neville hasn't been replaced tbh. The twins are our full back replacements. They're both excellent wing backs who just need disciplined in positional play. A lot of people seem to forget that they just turned 22. If we do buy a full back it will be for the left though. Right back is Rafaels.

Agree with Neil in a way. Centre midfield is our main weakness and we need to sign somebody for there but when players like RVP are available you sign them. Absolutely delighted. He's averaged 34 games a season for Arsenal too so his injury record isn't 'horrific' as some are making out.

I thought he was a good player at Villa, but I didn't think we particularly needed another winger other than for back up. He had a fantastic start for us though but his form became erratic after a while. He's some way behind Nani and Valencia for me. He's English though. Pay more for less. £16m was a big figure, especially since he only had a year left on his contract.

If we sell a winger to accommodate Lucas it 100% won't be Valencia. Incredibly consistent, blistering pace and arguably our best player the last few seasons. He's been given #7 as well which is normally an important gesture by the club. (Still annoyed Owen got it) Nani on his day is unplayable though and he's improved his consistency massively over the last two seasons. I see him as much more valuable than Young and don't want him sold. I echo the thoughts of a few in here though, CM should be addressed before adding any more wingers.

We were linked with him, but he is very raw and unlike at Twente he wouldnt be first choice here so best choice in his career right now really. Good business from Twente though, they seem to be very smart in the transfer market so it cant be McLaren who makes the decisions. Didn't even know that McClaren had went to back to Twente. Noticed that myself today that he was very negative about Newcastle. The only positive thing I heard him say about the club all day was praising Guthrie and when Jonas tracked back late on in the game and he said, "My word, what a player." I dare say Kalou's goals per minutes ratio isn't half bad. He barely gets on for Chelsea, but when he does he usually scores. He has a knack for doing it against us as well.
