Like I keep saying the integrity of our league is more important to me than the ability to trade players for 2 more weeks. id personally shrink the window further to June & July only so clubs actually get on with it and just reduce the poker element that occupies over half of it. A deadline is a deadline. Every PL Club would just fall in lined with it. You know who’s playing for you from August 1st until January 1st rather than spending all pre season with uncertainty. Especially with the ever increasing influence of agents and their shills.

I never said it did. We should just close off ourselves for the integrity of our league. Like us with Isak you don’t have to sell anyone you don’t want to. To me that ability is of less importance knowing your squad is locked in committed and ready for the season to begin.

He didn’t mention Thiaw. He said Burn and Schar. To answer your response separately though what I have seen of Thiaw I worry his pace is more like Lascelles and over a longer distance rather than acceleration which you need against Watkins if leaving space. Setup like we did against Chelsea at home would be the way I go.

I never saw these briefings. All I took from transformative of any sort was the ability to sign some players eventually after having 2-3 windows where we’d maxed out the PSR. I’ve repeated this many a time that I’m at a point of boring myself. We were never going to sign 4x £60-80m players and 4x squad signings. NEVER. I predicted we’d keep Isak (pre bombshell and still expect us to but for differing reasons) and we’d sign 3x £40-50m players if no outgoings. RW… RCB… Versatile Forward to replace Wilson but ability to play also wide or in the hole. As it stands we’ve got our first choice RW. Second choice RCB (we probably had another enquiry about Guehi situation) and we are looking like (no guarantees) getting our 5th choice versatile forward (Wissa) despite moving quickly to TRY and sign Delap…Pedro…Ekitike…Sesko and losing out on all due to no fault of our own. Absolutely nothing we could’ve of done differently would’ve give us a different outcome due to our budget restrictions and wage structure and overall standing currently as a club. Anything else was based on outgoings and filling the squad. I.E Ramsey potentially replacing Longstaff and Ramsdale replacing Dubs etc. The one transformative signing would’ve been having two quality strikers which we would’ve bedded in expecting to sell Isak possibly 12 months later if we didn’t make UCL consecutively. Isak throwing a spanner in the works is no fault of the clubs. The fault in the fans is not being able to understand any of the above and continue to live in some dream world full of blame culture. The next 2 1/2wks is going to be exciting. Try and enjoy it. Will do you some good 👍🏻

Who labelled it transformative? Don’t recall anyone from the club stating that? Isak saga aside it’s went pretty much as I expected so far with a bit more to come. We moved first for every target so can’t move any quicker. I think the only ones looking like mugs are the fans with unrealistic and misguided expectations.

All the journos I’ve seen asked today have all replied directly weirdly saying it’s only the one (Ramsey).
