Yankuba Minteh (now playing for Brighton & Hove Albion)

And what if he's absolutely shite? In all seriousness, regardless of how good or bad Minteh turns out to be, the important thing is how we're using the money we generate. I'd swap Minteh for another Hall or Livramento any day of the week (and maybe that's ultimately what he paid for). -

Nuno has Barkley playing well and I could see Anderson filling in the same role when he's out. -
His shot stopping stats on FBRef are absolutely dreadful

"Hmm, how can I spin a 25m profit over a season into a negative?" -

How has "the gamble failed"? He still plays for us. All of the players we've signed still play for us. This bit isn't aimed at you, Tron, but for all the flapping on here about us making an apparent balls of this whole situation, the money we've spent has left us with one of the best teams in the league. Even if we don't buy anyone for the rest of the window, the upgrades we've made each window are still there. -
The position we're in though is that we have Barnes, Tonali and Hall bolstering the squad.
-
How was Wood a bad transfer? He came in and contributed to us going on top 4 form for half a season. We overpaid due to circumstance but do the people using him as a bad example genuinely think we'd have been better off keeping that £25m?
-
Wood led the line as we hoovered up points. He was hideous infront of goal, but was otherwise exactly what we needed that season as we were very direct. A lump up top that can press. In direct comparison, last season we dropped deeper and deeper in games and Isak may as well have been on the touchline.

It's the way people confidently assert they know more than Howe and the scouting team. Being dubious of a transfer and assuming we wouldn't be interested in a player is one thing, but carrying on after our interest is clear (or we've actually signed the player) comes across mental man
-
And yet still half the forum was saying he was a shite signing and insinuating Howe and the scouting team are clueless. Like usual, if we sign him we should be excited.
-
The thicker the line, the more of an advantage it is to the attacker. There'll still be speculation but it would atleast reduce the chance of legitimate goals being chalked off.
-
Would be suprised if we were actually in the race mind. IIRC his clause was like £15m and one of the top sides was always going to get him. Was more of a "why is our recruitment not signing him!" things where they obviously would if they could.

We did the same thing to Arsenal a few weeks earlier. Never understood our fans raging at that one like
-
It's also worth noting that most players aren't as good as those at Man City before they go to Man City.

In what world is Bruno 'not good enough technically' man

Stopping the game because someone's winded -
Been outrageous so far. He's still improving on the ballm
-
Few players need to get on his wavelength like, doesn't always pick the obvious pass and a couple of times we gave possession away with players still on their heels.
-
No it's not though, he's literally never done it before to my memory? Daft moment, but we know his limitations, and he doesn't randomly throw players to the deck every game. He's only seen game time due to 5 injuries to our defence.

Some have waited a few years for this, drink it in boys
