Not that it means much now, but I have to say when Gordon scored it was the loudest I think I’ve heard us celebrate a goal for a long time.
-
Botman and Burn are open to being ripped to shreds by pace. Admittedly, I don’t know if Sunderland have any quick forwards to be fearful of.
-
Equally, there’s people calling us embarrassing, Howe’s got to go etc. The truth, as always is in the middle. We’ve had a good European campaign and we’ll look back fondly on many of these Champions League nights. It’s the furthest we’ve ever got, and if that’s par, then we’re on the up as a club.
-
The fixtures lend themselves to a good run in the league. If we get 7th, furthest we’ve been in the champions league and semi final of league cup, that will be a good return given what happened with Isak and the relentlessness again of the cup draws we’ve had.

Yeah, thought it was a stupid comment from Shearer at the time. Bringing Gordon on last 30 mins to run at their tiring defence was absolutely a viable option (even if Al didn’t agree with it). Big difference between that and suggesting Gordon didn’t want to play, which is such a bizarre position to take when you think of the player and the game it was.

Unbelievable, James’ manhandling was the closest penalty call in the game

He’s class IMO. All players make errors, and I’m not denying he’s made some bad ones, but overall he’s been a great signing. Plus he’s young, first season in the league and it’s been a brutal campaign in many ways, so he’s got a great chance of getting ever better.

This time last year, I’d have been devastated by the thought of him leaving. But his drop in form Ramsey coming good, Miley developing well, it wouldn’t be such a huge blow. Would still be disappointed if he was to leave so hopefully it’s just agents talking shit.
-
Can’t believe how much he’s come on. Thought he was neat and tidy and nothing more. Great again today, really settled in and becoming a really effective player for us.
-
Watched the last 10 mins of their game and it was shocking how many left when there was only 1 goal in it and they’re a team that has exceeded all expectations this season. ‘Til the end!

Yeah, good point. The good news of that the club are definitely considering this with two new standing areas already identified. I think they are areas with lower numbers of ST holders but still people do need to be notified so maybe plans are for 2027/28.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure what people would report back in terms of atmosphere after watching it on TV. PSG was more radge, people up off their seats cheering tackles, and that wasn't as evident last night. It was good to see people stood up in the Gallowgate and there was some positive comments from the commentators (but sometimes you feel they talk our atmosphere up due to its reputation rather than reality). So I'm really pleased to hear that it was great and added to what was a special night. Hopefully there's more to come!

A lot of the half and half wearers will be our regular fans. There was too many in the group game for it not to be.
-
I heard a few weeks back from a person at the club that they were exploring additional safe standing. It sounded like it would be in place for next season but maybe plans changed?
-
I don’t know who is taking the piss and who isn’t, so thought it best not to quote any of them.
-
It seems very random. Especially now that the seats in level 7 above them at cat 2.
-
Only Castore would deliver a design like that.
-
With the club’s trajectory, I could have been in charge of commercial deals and shown healthy growth. We know there’s still much untapped potential which we’re not maximising fast enough, which is why there’s been some personnel changes in that department.
-
Only risk is with the non-family level 7 seats being cat 2, it’s a big ask to charge that much for the worst seats in the ground.
-
When it comes to memberships, we really need to look at models adopted by the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea. They have more sophisticated models that are able to reward loyalty, give some access to away tickets etc etc. We've stuck with the same model pretty much since the takeover. If we want to be a big club, we have to adapt much better.
-
They’ll never change. Have way more than their fair share of idiots amongst their fanbase. Only ever takes a few bad results and they start shit like this.
-
Yeah, and for later rounds it feels like an international break weekend. Shite.
-
Filled it in. I think what we need is fairly obvious. Standing areas dedicated to those who want to create an atmosphere. It just depends if the club care enough to inconvenience some people to make it happen. There's plenty of people wanting a ticket so if people don't want to move elsewhere, there'll be others who will be happy to take their place.

Liked both last seasons away kits but the Adidas home kits and this seasons aways are poor IMO. Next season’s home is a new low. Thank god for the retro stuff!
