Newcastle training stuff is terrible quality. Iron on badges and sponsors that peel off. Can’t wait til we get rid.

There was plenty in Hooters last time we were there

Yeah, in a thread about poor atmosphere, we can’t really complain about what people are signing! Within reason of course.

1500-3000 seats is surely not the level of ambition here. Might as well just put railings up in the strawberry corner on ‘safety grounds’ that people stand anyway. If they want to do something bigger Leazes corner might be the best shout with presumably less season ticket holders and season ticket holders who don’t really care where they sit. People want to be in the Gallowgate to be in the best atmosphere. If the Leazes corner was a standing area and designated signing area I’m sure people would leave the Gallowgate to get involved. I left a prime seat in Gallowgate middle tier behind the goal to move to Strawberry corner for this reason.

It would make a good kids night light

Agree, plus Rafa was too good for us at the time. Attracted by the potential we all saw in the club and happily went toe to toe with Ashley. Which is why we all loved him. Howe has come here to grow with us. He'll get better as we do. He's had an unbelievable start, we're well ahead of where we can expect to be with the squad we have. Looking at our midfield and forwards, there's only Bruno who has played a good chunk of our games who wasn't here when Bruce was. More signings and the settling in of Isak and Gordon will improve us again. Whilst I loved Rafa, I don't think he could have done what Howe has achieved so far and I certainly wouldn't swap!

And as good as Man Utd were they didn’t dominate in Europe the way they did domestically. It’s crazy that Liverpool have had more success in Europe despite only winning 1 league in 33 years. Prime Shearer would have made the difference IMO.
-
We should leave him where he is and focus on getting players with similar ability around him. It’s only an issue because none of our other midfielders and forwards are near his standard. Better times are coming!

Jordan is just arguing with himself there. Making irrelevant points just to hear the sound of his own voice. No Newcastle fan will slate Stavely for her comments if we don’t go on to win the Champions League, it’s great to have the ambition and commitment to try to make the club the best it can be.

I’m very drunk, and fresh from an argument about being ‘from the fright side of the river’ but I think people are being very disrespectful to Bruno. Bruno does things in midfield, beyond the capability to Casemiro. He’ll achieve great things without having to worry about who has gone before him. We’ve bought a player with great things ahead and not behind him. Worth baring that in mind.

Black and white sambucas lined up would look the part!

I agree with much of this. Another thing for me is not having a season ticket after having one for almost 20 years before Bruce came. I feel more on the periphery these days. Even more so with recent debates about who deserves Wembley tickets and ‘rewarding loyal fans’. Doesn’t help, when you can get tickets they’re are typically in the Leazes which doesn’t compare in anyway to the strawberry corner.

Sorry, got confused here. Loco doesn’t show the game so ignore me. If you want to enjoy the match day, and we are at home, without going into the ground, to actually watch the game my friends often go to terrace bar and say it’s decent. Strawberry etc should be decent if it’s on tv.
-
All the above still applies I think. It is a case of take your pick and you can’t go wrong. The Hotspur is decent but usually busy. Bar Loco is good, also busy, but plenty of room outside so you’re not rammed in.

Depends what you’re looking for: best atmosphere/most mental will likely be wonderbar crow’s nest has big screens and will be busy Shark Bar has a lot of screens, a lot of them side by side (pet hate of mine) Strawberry, Rosie’s, Three Bulls etc for more traditional pubs Liberty Rooms looks decent but need tickets Bar 52 for sports bar The Junction - average bar but good screens and tend to have a lot of staff on for quick service Personally, barring a miracle and getting a ticket, I’ll be heading to The Riverside which is a former nightclub turned music venue. Hoping it will have a fanzone atmosphere but never been in there for football before. Hope that helps.

Always thought it would be best to keep the pond, purely from an aesthetic point of view. Build a new stadium down the side towards Barrak Road. Turn the existing ground into a park area and have an agreement that the club will maintain all the park areas around the stadium. The city gets a nice park and we get a new stadium. Win win!

I haven't got a ticket but just think a sense of perspective is needed here. At no point did anyone say an ST guarantees you priority for cup final tickets. If you're P4 or 5, you've either got less than 25 loyalty points or went to less than 3 carabao cup games. There could be any reason for that but also you have had chance to move yourself higher up the priority list. There are many people in P6 who gave up their STs due to Mike Ashley and haven't been able to get them back. Remember the scramble for the few STs they did release in the summer. People who gave up their tickets knew this was the risk but decided to do it anyway. But all this moaning that 'I'm in p4 and I'm furious that someone in p6 got a ticket' isn't right. For starters, if the club handled it differently, it would lock out any non ST holders from attending cup finals, possibly ever again. Look at Liverpool's way of distributing tickets, they give members almost equal chance as ST holders because they know they have to keep as many people involved as possible. Secondly, there's fans in p6 and p7 that have done the hard yards, likely much more than those in p4 and p5. They've stood at the likes of Bolton watching us get smashed 5-1 and turned up again next week to do it all again. We should just be happy for those who have tickets and those of us who don't, find a pub with your mates and be glad you can experience us (hopefully) winning a trophy at long last. If you don't, your experience a week on Sunday could feel very hollow.

What’s people’s thoughts on the Riverside to watch the game? Have they done anything indoors for the World Cup before?
-
Any idea why the square of red (amongst the green) isn't included? If that square, which on google maps looks like a combination of trees, car parks and steps to the metro, was included we'd have a decent chunk of land to use.

We’re in a similar position. Anarchy Brewery might be best option but it’s obvs out of town. If we win I’d want to be outside SJP.

Also thought they’d be selling some overpriced packages for the Bamburgh suite. hopefully they’ll shift the Wembley tickets and then announce a big screen in the ground.
