The intensity of Man Utd I agree but the lack of striker worries me. Crowd will be important when it gets nervy. -

Yeah I can’t wait, going to be a relaxing nerveless afternoon ? It’ll be solidarity with others in the Gallowgate corner -
Yeah I can see a response next weekend and far more intensity to the play but more of the same in the final 3rd with no striker. Throw in the fact we’re hardly watertight at the back and it’s a real worry.
-
The constant tricks and step overs when there’s the need for an obvious quick ball are very frustrating. I wouldn’t be at all surprised that kore decisive players in his position will replace him if we stay up.
-
Few managers berate players in public but sure as hell throw a few fvcks into them behind closed doors
-
I think if we can add some quality additions and cobble together a few wins to build confidence we’ll stay up. Otherwise we’ll go down with a whimper
-
Agreed and today was a reminder of just how diabolical they can be. I was feeling quite optimistic recently but that’s properly kicked me in the knackered today lol
-
The performance against Man Utd shows what Howe can do but getting them to perform consistently is the issue.
-
Yep they really do. Failure to win against Watford though will be hammer blow.
-
Watford is massive for Howe and the players though that’s stating the obvious
-
One of the worst performances I’ve seen from a player today (and there were a few others today too)
-
It’s the perfect situation for him to starting leaching from them. They can dress it up anyway they wish but a leopard doesn’t it’s spots. They might be screwed to some degree but he’s about to start taking their soul.
-
Is there an argument for Gayle getting a run out given he’s our only striker? I mean bag a goal and at least we have another option for Watford assuming we can’t bring anyone in before then.
-
I’m in the Milburn/Leazes corner so a different view again from where I normally go. Looking forward to an outing without feeling massively stressed which will absolutely be the case next Saturday.
-
His nickname at Nantes was “the wall”. That’s good enough for me ?
-
Thats probably not far from the truth. Club would probably try and keep it fairly quiet if he’s done for much longer. If clubs know he’s likely done for most of the remaining season they’ll play even harder ball.
-
Agreed. The club were probably hoping he stayed fit and to bring in a younger back up option. It’s a totally different picture now. Not having a legitimate striking option could mean relegation because we have to assume the worst with Wilson and that he might miss most of the rest of the season. Shame, great player but just too injury prone.
-
Thats the first thing that came to my mind too
-
I agree I think with Wilson’s injury that position becomes absolutely vital even though we know how awful central defence is. The missed chances v Man Utd show how crucial having a striker is. We could play Watford (and Leeds for that matter) off the park but if there’s nobody to finish the chances.....
-
Looking forward to going. Any kind of win at the moment can only help morale.
-
Be great to have at least Trippier and another striking option for Watford.
-
Watford are really struggling and Leeds haven’t looked great either and we play both next month. With key signings hopefully in early for these games I’m actually feeling quite confident. The two home games straight after v Everton and Villa massive too. These four games with a revitalised squad please ?
-
Yeah I’d say so, can’t imagine we’ll that much of a turnaround in time for then
-
S fingers crossed it’s not serious but it sounds like Wilson could miss a major chunk of the rest of the season. Need two strikers now really.
-
Totally agree. If we can bring some players in sharpish in Jan, the matches in Jan and Feb give us a decent chance. The fact as diabolical as we have been and aren’t completely dead in the water with the transfer window still to come gives me some hope.
