  1. Which is why we need to get the ball down and play and negate Nolan because of his lack of pace. If it becomes and edgy match where Nolan is constantly searching for knockdowns and running into positions in the box then we're in trouble imo. If Cabaye pushes on a bit like against Liverpool and we get good movement from Cisse/Ba then we can cause them plenty of problems in defence. Need to be a bit more expansive than just give it to HBA and hope he creates something. Get some movement going lads. Would love to see Cisse rifle one into the net it really would go a long way to lifting our play
  2. I watched the first 4-3 loss to Liverpool in what was then Inventions before it was Bar Oz
  3. I'll be with them mate, it's fucking shite in there agreed. Crows nest opposite Haymarket is decent
  4. What is strange is how we often sit back on a lead even at home. Against Norwich we started defending a 1-0 in the 2nd half which was massivel frustrating. Need to drive it home against West Ham if we go in front.
  5. Picked a ticket up from the box office today, south west corner and last ticket going. Lady said it's heading for a sell out. Massively revved up for this which probably means it'll be a drab 1-1 No I think it'll be a good match this, plenty of players with plenty to prove. Ba apparently fit to play too. Got a couple of West Ham mates up, which pubs in town (if any) are away fan friendly? Shearer's maybe? Not sure if they're wearing colours.
  6. Goals or no goals there was a lot more to his play against Liverpool. The likes of Coloccini struggled in this league to begin with, so did the likes of Evra and Vidic at Man U. Takes time to adjust, hopefully he's just starting to show what he can do.
  7. Good summing up above there, that's pretty bang on. Ben Arfa seems to operate better as part of a front 3 in that little pocket to the right. In a 4-4-2 he's just looked far too isolated and ends up attacking from too deep as mentioned above. If we get the formation right and start well their defence is there to be attacked. Lets respect the likes of Nolan's knack for scoring ofcourse but at home we should really be able to run them al over with Cabaye/HBA/Ba etc. I agree I can see them scoring so we'll probably have to bag a couple of goals.
  8. Going to call by the stadium tomorrow afternoon to check the ticket situation, might well go to this. Got a couple of West Ham mates up for this, which pubs are away fan friendly? To be fair it's hardly like they're going to be throwing their weight around and I'm not even sure if they're wearing colours.
  9. Krul Simpson Saylor Williamson Santon Anita Cabaye Jonas HBA Ba Cisse I still think with a midfield 3 of Jonas, Cabaye and Anita in midfield and HBA doing his thing we can really take the game to them. If Ba plays then we have someone to put the chances away. Things would be made a lot easier of Cisse started to look like a threatening striker again.
  10. Very rusty but I suppose its to be expected. Clearly has the technical skills just needs the consistency to get to the level he was at before he got injured last time.
  11. Dull, poor in possession giving it away far too easily (Obertan/Marveaux) and nothing in the final 3rd. Still it wasn't a full first 11 so not bad I suppose. Need go go hell for leather on sunday though, very winnable match but tough at the same time.
  12. Tight hamstring, might be ok for West Ham apparently
  13. We all know his limitations but the way some people go on about him on here is ridiculous imo
  14. Stupid thing to do which contributed to full on pressure/madness towards the end.
  15. I'd rather we just have a proper go even if we end up losing. It's the limp performances at Anfield which are so tedious
  16. I'm expecting the customary 3-0 loss so anything else is a bonus. I might go that extra mile and go to the Lonsdale locally where I don't think I've ever seen us win
  17. Defo get Saylor in. The article in the chronicle today with headline from Williamson "I'm relishing Suarez encounter" or something along those lines is asking for a raping
  18. We're a much steadier ship than Liverpool at the moment and in many aspects a better club moving forward and Ba seems to have an affinity towards us. You just always worry that if they offered him a massive salary increase he'll be off.
  19. Just go into this fixture almost apathetically expecting defeat which is pretty tragic but given the results there over the years hardly surprising. Someone wrote earlier about them atleast having a go even if we do lose. We just always put in such limp performances its embarrassing.
  20. I'd go with Sammy as part of a front 3 for this one. He has good pace, can finish ok and he looks like he's beefed up a little bit and he gives you something different. Definitely ahead of Obertan. Krul Simpson Saylor Colo Santo Perch Cabaye Jonas HBA Cisse Sammy
  21. The problem with Shola is he's much better coming off the bench for 25--30 mins. The other problem is be puts in a few good shows in that role and then starts and regresses to how we often know him 433 with Cisse central for me

O'neill is an impact manager, nothing more. He always has that massive surge in performances when he takes over a team but he's got an awful record in the transfer market and he can never sustain that initial lift. Noel Gallagher was on talksport the other night and said "did you see Adam Johnson in the NE derby, that's why City sold him, does nothing when it matters"
  23. Ofcourse this has nothing to do with the fact he sent two of their players off and they lost the game? lol #sourgrapes
