  1. Doesn’t sound like a lot clubs with lower revenue will go for this then? The idea of larger clubs benefiting from the fines too? 😂 As far as we’re concerned it doesn’t sound like it’d unlock our cash reserves?
  2. Can anyone summarise Douglas’s article on the new “rules”?
  3. The piss farting around at board level has definitely impacted us and Howe. Also while it sounds defeatist I just don’t think under the current PSR restrictions we can challenge for the league or became yearly champions league qualifiers while also potentially competing in Europe at the same time. What I thought was achievable when the takeover happened I just don’t are possible in the current climate. Yes we can buy in unknown players for less money but you’re fighting against wage bills and commercial revenue of the top 6.
  4. For whatever reason I’m not as fussed to go at the moment but I don’t even bother with the ballot thesedays. I’ve probably got a better chance of a last minute resale like the Fulham ticket I got.
  5. Everything currently suggests they’ll turn us over at theirs come Mid December. But this is a derby and things can change pretty quickly. A few wins can ramp up confidence, injuries can effect either team before then (if they lost Zhaka or Ballard for example) plus I’ll be feeling far more confident with both full backs back and Wissa as an attacking option even off the bench.
  6. I am expecting more from him but still confident we’ll see it. As has been pointed out above he’s coming into a side generally playing pretty badly. I think people writing him off already are a bit too quick to do so. It is Howe’s job to integrate him fully into our play though, same goes for Elanga and Woltemade.
  7. If Howe genuinely believes that Burn is better at LB than a fully fit Hall moving forwards then we’ve got issues. I just can’t really see that though.
  8. Thought he was poor yesterday no doubt but it’s far too early to write him off
  9. Exactly 😂 He might’ve scored a number of goals already had he not got injured and nobody would be saying anything about the fee 🤷🏽‍♂️
  10. All really good questions here which I’ve been mulling over too. Is he just seen as a different option to Wissa or is there a plan to play them together or was it a panic buy they took a punt on? It sounds like it wasn’t so begs the question that they must’ve had a clear idea what they wanted to do with him.
  11. I think he’s done very well but his style of play isn’t working in our system or rather we aren’t making him work in the current system. That’s on the coaching staff and other players to help him and get the ball into him better and get in behind him making runs. Craig hope’s recent video on this was pretty good. The Wissa injury threw him into the food and forced everyone to suddenly adapt to a new season whereas Wissa would’ve been and will be similar to something they’re used to. But they knew what’s they were getting with Woltemade so it’s on Howe to coach the team to get the best out of him.
  12. “They’d walk it” 😂 It’s a derby ffs, form often goes completely out the window. Besides which loads can happen in 5 weeks in football (injuries, form etc)
  13. I second this, no more of this disjointed play. I hope we finally carry a threat away from home too, we need some momentum going into the break.
  14. I have been impressed at your physicality and spirit to not give up. I guess it’ll be interesting to see if the grind of the league catches up with you, injuries, ACFON etc, fatigue, dips in form. Teams will also start to change the way they play against you which is often what happens in the premier league.
  15. I’d really like to see Howe get the fullbacks back into the side to help our overall play and build some patterns of play and form heading into the derby. I’m sure Howe will be aware of this too. A few good wins before the derby and we’ll be right up for it whereas currently everyone is a little bit apprehensive understandably.
  16. Yes I remember queuing up on Thursday or Friday morning to get tickets mid 90s but you had to be there for like 3/4am as there was only ever a few hundred on sale. There’s one bloke in my local who has two platinum seats but barely goes and doesn’t even seem that arsed, not sure whether his son goes or what. But he has the tickets on a separate phone so it looks like he’s going each time.
  17. They’ll be convinced of a victory in the derby (well the fans certainly) which plays into our hands really. I thought their midfield did pretty well against Arsenals but if our midfield is on song we can have them. Hall and Livramento back will make a massive difference and you’d like to think Wissa will be an option. If we hit some form before then we’ve got the players to turn them over.
  18. I think the City match will be tell us a lot about Howe really. Hall will be fit to start by then and he’s going to have to make big decisions as you say. He doesn’t want to drop Burn but clearly Hall is the best option at LB and for the teams overall play. I would say it’s probably between Burn and Botman at CB and I hope he doesn’t keep persisting with 5 at the back at avoid having to drop someone. We do also have plenty European games to come so I don’t see an issue in rotating Burn at CB.
  19. Yes the fuckwit decided being an abhorrent abusive misogynistic toe rag was the way forward. Horrific individual.
  20. Strong, physical side who don’t give up but they’ll no doubt hit a bad patch at some point or lose some momentum. The derby will be mental in December but we’ve got the right players to mix it with them and we should have a full deck of cards by then.
  21. A number 10 creative option is definitely something we should look at moving forwards.
