  1. He may turn out to be amazing, he may be bang average, we have to sell in our current state, no complaints (other than ridiculous PSR)
  2. This is it essentially. We’ve been backed into a corner due to PSR
  3. Blimey it’s all go Surely we’re in the clear now?
  4. So unless we bring in a few million (nobody seems to know how much) we’re going to be docked some points. PSR is outdated and fucked and the sooner it starts effecting the premier league “product” the better because the rules will soon be changed then.
  5. This is the only way it happens. “If” his head gets turned towards London and a massive salary and he wants to go then we will have no choice but to sell him. It doesn’t seem like that’s the case so far and I’d hazard a guess that he knows there’s possibly bigger teams that will come in for him in the future anyway if he was to go. He seems happy where he is right now tho.
  6. Probably right especially as that have twins but it’s not a permanent move to the NE. What 3 years maybe?
  7. Be funny if/when the premier league start to shit it when players start leaving for the continent when clubs can’t afford wages and transfer fees (see Olise situation). Rules would soon change then.
  8. I agree on paper some of these players look like a “risk” but potential transfer targets are poured over and analysed endlessly in terms of whether they’re the right fit (potential role, character, injuries etc). The club has done pretty well so far so I feel pretty comfortable with whoever they’re aiming for currently. That doesn’t mean to say people can’t have an opinion on whether a potential signing is good or bad.
  9. Howe would work wonders with him
  10. Yeah finding a back up , 2nd option striker is hard. Clubs hands are tied financially to an extent so they can’t shell out fortunes on a striker and RW. I still think bulk of our money will go on RW.
  11. He's in the final year of his contract, I’d be staggered if we were to pay anything like that and it’s also not like he’s been a goal machine recently to push the price up. I agree I wouldn’t be happy paying anything like 37m
  12. In fairness Everton weren’t exactly creating a boat load of chances. He was highly rated a few years back but seems to have lost his way a bit and suffered from injuries. His fitness looks like it’s improved recently and maybe he just needs a change, Gordon’s done pretty well following the move. I can see why the club are looking at him to be honest especially as a back up striker if he doesn’t cost that much. It won’t eat into our budget too much and will still allow for a fair chunk on RW and hopefully R CB to come in. I can also see why people are less enthused by this as a signing but I’m pretty comfortable with it.
  13. Being signed as a back up, no issue with that really
  14. He's literally exactly what we need but the injuries are a concern (though I haven’t looked into his exact record to be fair)
  15. Could do with this coming to an end and a new sporting director installed
  16. Totally. RW is going to eat up most of our budget. In an ideal world we’d strengthen all areas of the team but that’s fantasy land with PSR. Club is having to box clever wiht signings.
  17. Olise is nailed on for Chelsea.
  18. Exactly, Pope allows the defence to push up which was one of the major issues when Dubravka was in goal. They must rate Trafford pretty highly anyway and it sounds like the structure of the deal is the only issue.
