Parish has stood firm and now won’t get what we were offering in the summer even if it was below their valuation. Seems his form as also dipped a little so maybe he is unsettled. I don’t buy the “he’s shite” comments now 😂 He’s still a quality defender who would as loads to our back line but he’s a 40-45m defender whose price soared due to the euros. We were probably prepared to go over a bit but stopped when Palace wouldn’t budge and got too greedy. Be interesting to see what happens with him moving forward. He’ll probably go for 40m off in the summer with a year left. My guess is we’ll go elsewhere now.

isn’t the whole argument “bought the league” a bit outdated anyway?

I agree with that city fan regarding clubs previously spending money to gain success and that the cartel is changing rules to directly affect them and us. But let’s be honest if a club is putting people on secret contacts such as they did with Mancini with a second salary from a club in Abu Dhabi without declaring it then you need to be held accountable. And that only just scratches the surface of what they’ve been doing.

Really interested to see how he plays today, expecting a much sharper performance

Bizarre, Tonali gets 10 months but Paqueta is playing on at the moment with the premier seemingly unsure of what to do next. Quite a few teams have the right to be pissed odd surely.

Like Trippier I think he could well go in Jan. He’s behind Barnes and Murphy effectively so isn’t going to get that much playing time.

And you know that for certain do you? Why would we put things in the public domain, all the noise was coming from the Palace end. By all accounts and according to Mitchel the final offer was made two weeks before the end of the window although dialogue remained open. It was a poor window, mistakes were made but let’s not start making wild accusations that we don’t know are true. As I’ve said on here previously much of what Mitchel says makes sense. We do need to evolve in the PAR world in terms of signings and selling players and Howe probably needs to adapt to a degree. The proof will be in the pudding in terms of the players he brings in and his relationship with Howe.

Gordon is looking sharper, Isak scored two and will be sharper and Tonali is coming on now too. Bruno has looked a little off the pace too but should be better for Wolves. Gives me much more confidence for the next few games. We’ll be a totally different side with those three in form, game changers. I think our passing and play will be much quicker and more precise.

Yeah he’s not a deadly finisher but was showing improved finishing signs last season.

I didn’t watch yesterday, anyone give a quick review of Gordon? Was he looking back to his normal self?
-
I don’t think he fits in with the “no dick heads” policy irrespective of work rate. I’d be astonished if we signed him

I think theres too many who’ve come to the conclusion already that Mitchel is either no good, shifty or ready to force Howe out. I think the guy needs to be given time, much do what he says makes sense.

There has to be some adaptation from Howe in accepting the various roles of club aiming to move towards elite status, I mean he’s not at Bournemouth anymore. That being said the club would be foolish to make life overly difficult for him and/or move him in on if he’s still been doing well. All they need to do is look at what he’s done so far since coming in. I don’t expect everything to be nicey nicey behind the scenes all the time, I’m sure there are strong opinions and disagreements but hopefully working relationships can remain calm and focussed.

Rai 1 had it listed as a 3-5-2 from memory with Tonali left side of a central 3 in midfield. I didn’t watch all the match but apart from that outrageous touch for the goal he looked tidy, hit a couple great crossfield passes. Hes just very good on the ball too.
