Fact is, if we go into the summer with Pardew, and he doesn't get a big say on the players he wants, this kind of thing is just going to keep happening over and over again. Ashley’s current plan is flawed unless basically this is actually what he wants. Which is hard to see when he’s missing out on millions on potential player sales. He's never going to get full value of Carr with Pardew, and then he’s never going to get full value of Pardew with Carr. They are pulling in opposite directions, then coming together on some sort of agreement. If Ashley had any ambition or any football logic, he'd see what a great asset Carr could be with the right man controlling the side. Ashley is either blind to it or just content with how things are going and feels no need for change.

Increase our chances of a win if they lose a couple of key players, when a couple of ours might be coming back in? What good will that do, apart from totally extinguishing the pressure on your mate? We back on the road of wanting to lose now then i see? Here's me thinking you want to get as many points on the board as possible during a season regardless of where you finish.

What actually did surprise yesterday was that Man Utd have the best away record in the league this season. That very much decreaes our chances of a win regardless of who is playing for either side

Remy is the key to any success against them, increases our chances massivley if he's fit and starting. Gives us all a lift.

I'm actually surprised they are sticking by Poyet, thought Short would have looked for a managerial bounce in sheer hope. I thought the pressure was taking it’s toll on Poyet when he rested players for the cup game at Hull, just seemed crazy, especially when he never backed it up with a result in the league. Then his team selection last night was pathetic for a 6 pointer, he's crumbled under the pressure and sending them down, like many predicted that cup run would do. At least Hendo went to Wembo to see the marras though.

An asset to any club on that alone. Would be great to have him here as an option (not a week in week out starting striker) He's probably the best in the Premiership in the air, but his lack of mobility will always hold him back. I noticed last night that if he dropped deeper to lay off a ball (which he does reasonably well), he stands very little chance of getting into the area to get on the end of the move. It takes him forever and a day to get into stride, like. Was funny watching it last night, i'm sure he's got slower mind

^^^ And the Spanish league is one Ronny likes. Clearly not too much if he's judging sides by their number of points on the board. Nobody said they were high quality teams. Was just a match I expected to deliver entertainment in and it did just that.

Fair enough, just opinions. I'd rather watch betis/Malaga than West Ham/Sunderland. Tbh I'd watch almost any La Liga game over the PL, least the majority of the time you'll find a couple of sides who want to play the 'right way' as people say. See the likes of Valladoid battling relegation then Crystal Palace and you might see the difference in philosophies regardless of points on the board.
-
Aren't Betis relegated already? Sounds great. Not yet. Still trying, they play some really nice football they just always seem to bottle it and become unstuck...unlucky some may say.
-
Should have watched Betis/Malaga instead then. Two better teams in a better league.

I know it's a Newcastle forum but you can't get away from a post without being reverted back to Pardew/Newcastle. There's good football to enjoy and excite you outside the bounds of NUFC.
-
We are better than both them sides so not picking a player or two from the game makes no difference. One is getting relegated and the other is bottom half and they are there for a reason. Somehow we turn every match into a chance to slag off our own club.
-
Rumours that Costa is injured for tomorrow's games. Hopefully, got Barca minus 2!
-
Get in Betis you bottling bastards. 5/2 for Malaga was huge then Betis missed a 90th min pen, always feels sweeter.

Naaaa, link? What's it about? The truth Brett, will you be able to handle the truth ? I'll give it a go, like. Although i'm pretty sure i read an article with him trying to get Wenger Out so he might not be all about the truth.

Cajun with the hardcore evidence, i was merely suggesting what was said

Sure Barton praised Hughton/Pardew, they were shipped out because they wouldn't agree to Ashley's bonuses, or lack of them. It was Ashley they stood up to and got flogged for it. Barton praised Hughton, not Pardew. Even recall a post-match interview where he said it was the team spirit Hughton had installed in them that made them win, not Pardew. Sure he praised him in the interview i seen not long ago when talking about leaving Newcastle, and he was certainly mentioned him with praise on Twitter recently. Think it was around the headbutt situation. Barton has seemingly only had problems with Ashley and others at board level in terms of why he left.
-
I'm glad i'm not the only one who still thinks of him as asian.

I haven't seen it but just heard about what he done. Are the FA looking into it? Surely you can't tell a ball boy he'll get punched if tries this in future? Or is that wide of the mark of what happned?
-
Sure Pardew said he gave them extra rest last week as well, which i'm guessing meant a day off or early finish. No wonder they are happy to sprout his shit.

I had no problems with Ben Arfa's work rate on Sat, i know it shouldn't have came as a surprise but it was when he was hauled off at half time. Was a disgrace. That pass Gouff did across his own box straight to their player would have seen Ben Arfa hung at half time, let alone subbed. Shaw did have him in his pocket but every Southampton player was carrying one of ours around.
