  1. They’ve actually started to look a lot more like a team recently. The best thing they could do is sack him (for us that is)
  2. I can’t see us finishing sixth or seventh with the squad issues we still face. The consistency required feels out of reach given the amount of goals we’re shipping. It’s not impossible but I’ve got no hope for it whereas I do think there’s hope we could get to an FA cup final. Even if we were to finish in the Europa conference league spot I wouldn’t feel that excited in all honesty. If we have the squad to compete in Europe then it’s different but the idea of trying to compete again on multiple fronts with a threadbare squad is disheartening
  3. I’d say it’s a rare must-win in that it doesn’t have a bearing on the manager’s position, it’s not going to affect relegation etc but if we lose it completely changes how everything feels for the rest of the season and it basically makes the season a write off. The season can still feel positive if we get to Wembley
  4. That’s a brutal image for us like
  5. Been a poor game this between West Ham and Brentford. Neither side is playing well but Brentford’s defence has been awful
  6. Just have to find a £110m buyer for Caicedo, can’t be too hard
  7. Already started looking at replacements should they part ways? What a bizarre way of wording things, like it’s some sort of passive event that could just happen without anyone making the decision
  8. “I’m just here to enjoy the ride, provided the ride is faultless and we rise to the top immediately”
  9. Got to get that anger out there somehow

    Joelinton

We’re going to see a fair few column inches trashing Ashworth I’m sure
  11. This fawning over Klopp is tipping me over the edge - “Defies logic” ”Shows the little man can win” ”It takes a special man to do something this special” Fuck right off. Excruciating
  12. Aye, I’d be massively worried if the manager didn’t want to have a big say
  13. Reeks of Ashley that sort of business. Get a news article out there about doing your utmost to sign an amazing player, wait for the transfer window to come round. Haggle for months over a few quid for an uninspiring signing, sign Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (on loan) on deadline day. The new Man U
  14. That song still gives me chills on occasions
  15. No need to rewrite stuff, he did very well last season but we dominated 90% of games last season, with or without the ball. He was excellent at breaking up play and showed fantastic stamina game after game. His ability on the ball is identical this season to last, he takes too long on the ball and gives up possession when under pressure. You cannot have a player with his technical ability in central midfield if you want to consistently be a top six team
  16. Why are people obsessed with creating false narratives?
  17. The lad’s a massive talent, got huge confidence and swagger to his game
  18. Win this and the season still has a purpose. Lose it and it’s a wrap, would be no pressure to try change up some systems and different line ups. Hope we can win and get a favourable tie after but let’s just do the job here first. Want to see a major reaction from the players after being outplayed the other night
  19. Surrey is full to the brim with Chelsea fans. Not seen that many in Sussex though
  20. Agree on the first part. I think fans are idiots across the board really in football. I see all sorts of absurd takes from all teams’ fans
  21. I just think that even at his best, he’s a limited footballer. Anything below his best and he’s not good enough for the top half of the PL. Hes got enough application and covers enough yards to be useful when we’re able to play a full press. Take that away, give us few opportunities with the ball and he’s just there as a passenger
  22. Longstaff when we don’t see any of the ball / barely see any of it is a tough sell. Can’t impose himself on the game and doesn’t have the technical ability for the rare spells when we get the ball as he’s not great under pressure. Should really be a sub for us these days but can’t be because of our injuries
  23. Based on the fact Karius is showing some athleticism, good kicking and reading of the game, it’s his to lose until Pope’s back
  24. Credit to Gordon here for actually trying as hard as usual and not dropping his head
