  1. Mateta seems like a top lad, love how much he enjoys his football
  2. This palace game is class, really open

    The Other 18

They’re such a proper nouveau riche club, no class
  4. £624k per annum. Enormous money but this stuff always ends up being about context. Wonder what the average salary is in that league. A lot of people would kill for £62.4k per annum
  5. here’s my summation: “If the fans dream big then the board dreams bigger, some fans will attest to that. If there were signs of what would happen with the investment then they were whispered away, hushed voices, darting eyes. This was a meeting that decides the course of the football club for the next century. Behind the drawn curtains there were familiar knowing glances and plentiful smiles. This was a meeting that decides so many meetings to come. Should we let ourselves dream? Maybe, just maybe we should let the dust settle and the those knowing smiles turn to knowing glances, even knowing words. For it’s clear that the day when the future is decided is drawing closer”
  6. Tino’s not remotely shite. He’s class. He’s had a poor season by his standards but he’s been very good defensively for the vast majority of games. He’s been poor going forwards. We know he is quality at driving with the ball and that’ll come back with the right balance on the right-hand side. His cross at the weekend was one of the best he’s delivered, needs to work on that area of his game a lot
  7. Hall is priceless, as is Isak
  8. I want to say C for Trippier but I think averaged out across a season he’s probably a D so it has to be D, especially given it’s only going in one direction
  9. Anderson got roughed up a little on the day, obviously got to him
  10. Meslier literally handing in a transfer request here
  11. He’s a lowlights reel every game

    St James' Park

It’s an entitled view in my opinion. Of course we’d all love full details, we’d also like things to move as quickly as possible. However, they have no obligation to give us the full details nor to move things along as quickly as possible. I think you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you’re hanging on this news dropping all the time. Just get on with your lives as usual and then react when the news actually comes out
  13. I watch a lot of football but you’re on another level @Paullow
  14. The match going experience is coloured half by what happens on the pitch and half by who you’re surrounded by. It’s almost impossible not to have multiple cretins near you chatting shit. I’m a positive fan in the ground and only emit the odd momentary grumble, apart from that I mostly sing to back the team or shout shit at the ref / other team. If someone told me to be quieter or clap less I’d honestly just ask them what the fuck they’re doing at a live football match
  15. I hope so, I think what makes me more concerned is that the original ACL was an unusual one where they weren’t even sure what impact had caused it and then he played on for several matches while it was an issue. Just made me wonder whether he has more of a natural susceptibility. I really hope not as he’s an outstanding defender. I’d much prefer that they take their time with him and protect him so that he doesn’t have major injury recurrences
  16. Does Keith Gillespie come to many of our games?
  17. Thirteen seasons for us in the premier league, 294 games, 43 PL goals. Amazing stats if he’d been a playing any other position than striker. Wonder what his average minutes played was across that 294 games
  18. There was real beauty to the way he palmed the penalty into the roof of the net

    Lewis Hall

He was, but was such a limited player compared to Hall. Hall is by some distance the best LB we’ve had in my lifetime

    Jacob Murphy

Wouldn’t call him shit, he’s fast, he can kick a football hard and keep it down and he can cross a ball very well. He is not technically gifted at all, he can’t shield the ball against a press and he has a limited range of passing, he has no particular dribbling skill. So, it comes down to the fact he has his uses in the final third and he’s maximised these. He deserves a lot of credit for that but he’s not good in the other areas of the pitch

    Harvey Barnes

He’s a one-way player. He’s more than just an exceptional striker of a football. He can drive with the ball and can cross a ball but he’s almost entirely useless out of possession compared to you average winger these days
