Howe is extraordinary and we’ll continue to progress massively under him. I do think the transfer window has laid bare issues and we have to find a way to bring younger players through. We finally have some decent talent coming up through the academy so I think we will start to see it. I don’t know why we’ve gone backwards in the final third. Think it probably owes most to not having our best FBs on the pitch and sadly Joelinton not being a possession player, coupled with the fact that our LW (both) has been massively out of form and our new RW has struggled way more than anyone expected. I’m not worried but I don’t see a simple way to solve our issues on the wings. I think our FBs will be back to normal by the end of the year and I think Ramsey and Miley will get a lot more minutes, allowing Joelinton to rest and recover his physicality. What’s going to happen on the wings though? We really need Gordon and Elanga to start playing well and I don’t think the instructions or the system are the issue with why they’re both playing poorly

Personally think we’d find better balance playing Trippier at LB and either Thiaw at RB or Murphy there. Would probably go, Thiaw, Schar, Botman, Trippier as the back four but there’s precisely zero chance this happens
