  1. Getting a bit pissed off with Mexico's physical side. not particularly dirty but it's really slowing the game down

    Football pet hates

Just another one of those non-committal things where commentators piss their pants in fear of actually making a judgement call
  3. Sounds like we're just trying to give people a run out here, would like it if Campbell got thirty minutes. In spite of it being a pre-season game, Pardew's not going to pleased with a first half of almost no chances created and the other team looking like scoring with every chance
  4. for the Prophet Which is coming from our own website which, although not overly biased, is unlikely to be bigging up another team unless they're playing better than us. I don't think pre-season matches count for a lot when it comes to the start of the real season but it's not particularly good news, certainly not for our defence
  5. We must be absolutely awful to be 3-0 down already. Pardew will be raging at some of the fringe-first-team players who aren't pulling their weight. Completely unacceptable performance with our league start in one week's time
  6. Hope this doesn't taint us too much. If we send over lots of talented youngsters we'll be despised in the SPL. Not that it's particularly important in a business sense but Ive enjoyed the fact we've been a likable club again these past two years
  7. I like the way Blackburn are breaking the mould and showing how you can do things differently but still achieve success
  8. Think Marveaux's going to be very important to us this season. If he can stay fit, he's essentially one of three major creative players along with Cabaye and Ben Arfa. Teams may set up more defensively against us this season and it'll be up to those three to break them down
  9. I went to Athens a month ago and then went sailing around some Greek islands. Had an amazing time, everyone was incredibly friendly, the food was great and the heat was outrageous. Can't wait for the Europa tie and best of luck with your season whatever happens
  10. Total boring knobend. He's got about as much charisma and the shit that lies caked on the inside of your toilet for days
  11. The wolves are at the door
  12. One of my favourite games ever, never gets old
  13. Think Jonas is one of Pardew's favourite players. Not going off anything direct he's said but feel that he is. Can't comment at all on anything regarding Anita as I've never watched out for him. Imagine he must have pretty decent technique and something about him though if we're targeting a position we're not desperate for

This, supporting Newcastle is about patience nowadays. I'm pretty sure we'll get two new players in before the window and I've stopped worrying who they are and where they'll play. We've got a great squad for the league but will struggle to cope with the cups. We always would unless our squad was five players deeper. I think we do the best business in the league so let's continue as we have done
  17. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19195276 I actually hope he stays in the league and has a shocker
  18. He's a good player, but not our best by some distance, most would say not even the best. A very good player though. Rodgers obviously knew about the clause. I meant, known about in general, not just to Brendan. The fucked up part being that Brendan is privy to it and has left the club. I haven't watched enough of your football to judge but who do you rate better than Allen? Will be interested to see how you perform next season
  19. The thing I'm probably most looking forward to this season is seeing how the kids do in competitive games. Our midfield situation should be the blueprint for the other positions. Get 1 or 2 prospects in for each position to compete for places on the bench. I'd rather have these kind of players on the bench than a Best or a Guthrie type who are good players, but they're not getting any better. These kids might be something special and they will be ours. This, I'll always advocate trying to bring young players through. Can't stand it when you have too many filler players who will never offer anything new/different or improve much. In the Souness/Roeder/Allardyce years, this became a very common theme and it was difficult to stomach, would often look at the teamsheet and think, there's not much hope right now and in long-term even less
  20. With Tyson on this one. I said a few days ago - tongue-in-cheek - that if football was a one-person game, Obertan would be really good. Add in defenders, having to move at pace and make quick decisions is not his forte. I was saying the other day I hoped we sold him and brought in a replacement in this window but if we do keep him, I'll always support him and hope he manages to turn it around
  21. I think Liverpool are working towards their aim of fielding 11 midfielders. I'd be pissed off if they sold Agger for over 20m and got Johnson in on loan.
  22. Was the £15m release clause known about prior to Liverpool's interest? Seems a bit fucked up if not, Brendan leaving and all. Either way, they can have him for that sort of money. I think he's a good player, Swansea's best by some distance but he's not worth anywhere near that and Liverpool already have too many not-good-enough midfielders
  23. Stella's on the ropes here, if there's no source. We're looking at a knockout
  24. He's definitely more comfortable on the left but I think Pardew loves the safety of Jonas too much. Personally, I'd be looking to get Marveaux in on the left a lot this season, even if it means Jonas on the bench. Obertan can chill.
