He definitely played well, his ball retention on the left when he was getting hounded by a couple of guys and a neat passing move through the middle with Guthrie. His kicking at Stoke was appalling and today, while it was an improvement, there should have been a different tactic used in the second half other than him trying to find Demba Ba with a long ball out. Totally stifled our play as Distin cleaned up everytime.

I really like Best, always back him up but today he was poor.The offsides have been mentioned but he just didn't impose himself upon the game at all. shame that Marveaux went off early in the second as our distribution in the second half was appalling, Best could have done with more help but that doesn't excuse a lacklustre performance. The only player who actually helped us to play football in the last fifteen minutes was Ben Arfa.
