Hadn’t realised Kalajdzic had done his ACL, what a disaster for him
-
I think it’s partly / largely what Interpolic said earlier on in the thread that it’s maybe not out-and-out corruption but to do with pressure and scrutiny from the big clubs that bring in the most money. These Refs will be thinking, if I fuck this up then they’re going to blame who wins the league on me, compared with, if I fuck this up, this smalltime team might finish 16th or 18th, but they don’t have the fan base, the money or the media clout for it to rain down on me too much. That won’t necessarily be a conscious thought process but it will massively influence their decision making

Lee Mason has 15 years of PL experience and made that VAR decision yesterday. Let that sink in

Europe is gone? Off to bed lad
-
No thanks, Eddie for the long-term please
-
He’s had a lot of backing like, when you consider his performances, just don’t think he’s ever looked a premier league player (apart from thinking his pace and youth might turn him into one a few years back) but he’s gone backwards in the last 12 months
-
That was the point I was making, the issue is with the refs but all that VAR is doing currently is adding in extra time to games and taking away immediate enjoyment regarding goals. They can’t even get offsides right. If you can’t get an offside right, what’s the point
-
Bruno elevates every other player in our side, but especially the midfield and forward line, don’t think he particularly enhances Joelinton’s game over others but he takes the pressure off because he’s naturally creative whereas that’s not really Joelinton’s game
-
VAR equivalents work in Cricket and Tennis because they’re fast, take place in natural pauses in play and they get the decisions right every time. VAR in football takes an age, gets decision just as wrong and there’s no accountability. Id sack it all off but we’d still be left with the incompetent fucks we have at the moment who invariably gift big decisions to the top six
-
No doubt he will get minutes in the CL but PSG have destroyed four of the teams they’ve played and he’s still barely gotten any minutes, not a great start to his loan there
-
Think he was probably just feeling it from the Liverpool game. He gives as much if not more than anyone else game after game, rarely misses games and plays the full 90. I still think he was great defensively, just not so good offensively with his passing and link up
-
Ekitike’s racked up 35 mins of football so far this season. At his age you need to be playing games as much as possible, merde
-
Yeah, we’re getting a lot of headed goals this season or goals from head flick-ons. Botman will be the best target, Lascelles too when he plays, Burn should do more with his head, Joelinton is good in the air, Anderson seems strong in the air too and I expect Isak will get stronger too, he has a good header to set up a chance today
-
They’re the original dickheads of the league, oligarch comes in and transforms them by literally having a blank chequebook due to a life of corruption. They’ve been run in the worst possible fashion with no thought whatsoever about sustainability and Boehly has come in to pick up the torch. Good thing VAR have them the points though today, wouldn’t want all that money to have gone to waste
-
This is a good point, he needs to look for the easiest pass whenever there’s pressure and when there’s space to run, he needs to run with the ball and then when the pressure comes, release. It’s as simple as that with his technique
-
I don’t even know if it’s bait, think Maze is just a bit odd
-
Hope he can restart his career elsewhere in January. Would be great for him and us. His pace could definitely be of use in the lower leagues but we’ll struggle to shift him because of his wages. Howe might not be cutthroat enough to loan him out in Jan with a view to selling him in the summer but I think it’s what needs to happen
-
Realistically, his skill set is best suited on making runs into the box and general runs in the final third. He has the attributes more fitting of a forward role. He doesn’t have the technical ability / physicality to play in the middle. I hope we can figure it out as he’s definitely got great aspects to his game but he’s stalled rather than pushed on and mentally he seems like he doesn’t have the fire on the pitch or belief at times

One thing VAR has proven beyond doubt is that the standard of officiating in this country is even worse than we believed before its introduction. We were always told in the past that a ref’s eyeline was obscured, that there were bodies in the way or he wasn’t close enough to the action. VAR has proved that they’re just fucking awful at their jobs. Either they come out and say “we’re taking bungs and are a corrupt bunch of cunts” or they come out and say “we’re not good enough”. They can’t keep making these sorts of mistakes week after week. And it’s not just us, it’s all the teams vying for spots from 7th and below
-
He’s had a bad game, he’s been inconsistent for us but he’s far from one of our worst players in our squad. He’s also probably in poor shape after the game midweek. Ideally, he shouldn’t have started
-
The lads must be absolutely exhausted. Fucked over midweek, played 98 minutes of a fast-paced game and have to play again, goal gets diallowed unfairly. No surprises we’re running a bit on empty
-
These social media updates ever correlate with the starting 11?
-
Sounds like it might just be for today’s match
