  1. He's made a very good impact overall considering his limited gametime. This season he's had a couple of average showings in games in which the whole team performed poorly, mostly. Cup games seems to be something we struggle with across the board, bit harsh to single him out for that. I haven't completely written off Marveaux as a wide forward, but personally I'd have Michu as the CF with Marveaux as the furthest forward in midfield .
  2. Sissoko Cabaye Marveaux HBA Cisse/Gouffran Remy With Tiote/Anita making way - For most home games, at least.
  3. Stupid for people to criticise his lack of consistency given he hasn't been given a consistent run of games. In the little pitch time he was given last season he was consistently one of our most creative players in terms of chance creation/assists. He would be excellent there. Look at what Laudrup gets out of Routledge and Dyer, two significantly inferior players. Pardew isn't good enough to construct a side which would get the best out of players like Marveaux, more like.

. If we had a manager like Martinez or Pochettino I'd believe we could be European contenders.
  5. Moyes could be sacked though if they don't even look like finishing in the top six.
  6. Sounds like Southampton have been the better team for large parts of the game. Shows what a difference a manager can make.
  7. Quality player. Was written off way too quickly by some on here.
  8. Pleased with a point and with the attitude of the players. Don't think we were anything special going forward, though. Liverpool looked poor for large parts of the first half but our attacking play was too rushed in the final third + the amount of players going forward wasn't enough to capitalise on our possession.
  9. I agree. Don't think we have been all that great this half tbh- problems with transitional play, movement and attacking(which is rushed) all still evident for me - even the goal was a 'moment of magic'. Too many times the ball went to a forward like Remy who had to attempt to beat several men due to a lack of options to pass to.
  10. Our play in the final third is always rushed, usually culminating in a chipped ball into nobody.
  11. "Brendan's a good friend of mine, he sets his team up in the same manner as I do..."
  12. Will be off in January if the situation doesn't change. He'll show his quality providing he picks his next club wisely.
  13. Disgraceful that Marveaux doesn't make the bench over Obertan and the Ameobi brothers. f*** off.

You could definitely make a case for one of Distin/Jagielka alongside one of MYM/Colo for partnership reasons. Wouldn't have both ; I think our defensive problems are more organisational than quality related. Debuchy has been scapegoated a fair bit recently, but Coleman had a great game against us so you're possibly right on that one at the moment.

Apart from the obvious inclusions of Baines and Lukaku, I don't think many Everton players are better than those in our first XI.
  16. GW8 : Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool Arsenal 3-0 Norwich Chelsea 2-0 Cardiff City Everton 2-1 Hull City Man Utd 2-1 Southampton Stoke City 1-1 West Brom Swansea 2-1 Sunderland West Ham 1-2 Man City Aston Villa 1-2 Tottenham Crystal Palace 1-1 Fulham
  17. He's at least twice as good.
  18. Other races probably do. Any mentioning of race in a joke doesn't make it a joke with some sort of malicious or derogatory intention behind it.
  19. thought we dominated them in the first half and could easily have been another couple of goals up. We definitely deserved to be in front, and kept hold of the ball well, but our lack of movement + unwillingness to attack in numbers was still evident to me, at times. Perhaps watching the Everton-Man City game earlier in the day altered my expectations of the game a bit.
  20. Didn't think we were that great in the first half. Passed the ball around well but the problems we have with movement and attacking play were still apparent for me, albeit not as much as in other games this year. Tired of seeing balls hopefully lofted in and around the box as soon as a player gets in the final third. Cardiff were terrible for most of the game, even when we invited them onto us in the second half. That, combined with the fine form of Remy, was the main reason for our win today.
  21. Man U winning largely through individual ability and the lack of quality in the opposition. Just like us earlier.
  22. Hoping for as heavy a defeat as is necessary for Pardew to get the sack.
