This thread is far too balanced and reasonable. What we need, is to hear your views on religion

Wilson's point about yelling at the TV is an interesting one. I used to be guilty of getting far too carried away during games. But on Sunday, I wasn't even that arsed when we scored. I think and hope, that it is more to do with getting used to winning at this level. Not because I have lost my love for the club, after years of not caring and even actively wanting us to lose.

Fully agree with the bit in bold. I do often wonder how much of it is to do with getting so pissed off with football over the last few years and how much of it is down to just getting older. I don't really get the urge to go once or twice a month and spend my whole weekend and half my week's wages, on a trip up to the North East. Definitely enjoying it again and love the positivity surrounding the club. It's been a long time since it has been like that, with everyone seemingly pulling in the same direction.
  4. Didn't there used to be an away season ticket scheme or don't some clubs have a similar set up?
  5. So far, I thought his link and hold up play has been fine. But I thought he was really sloppy yesterday. His passing and first touch were a bit off and keeping hold of the ball with his back to goal was a bit of a problem. But it doesn't really matter when every time he has a chance, you think he'll score and the opposition's back four is always shit scared of him getting in behind. Whilst Mitro is better as a lone forward in lots of areas. I doubt we would have had the same threat going forward, or had their back 4 sitting deep, if he was starting.

I'll take your word for it Ghosty! When will Anichebe get injured? Doesn't he always get crocked? Pretty sure 3 goals in 2 games must be more than he has scored in the league in the last year or two. Always seemed quite talented and a beast of a centre forward. Just never stays fit or got anywhere near enough goals for him to get regular starts.
  7. Therein lies the problem. Nobody seems to know what his best position is. Including the managers we have had during his time here.
  8. He was pretty decent overall. He does seem to fuck up simple passes, due to him refusing to even use his right foot for a 5-10 yard pass. I'm sure we lost possession a few times because of this.
  9. Fancy dress and you went as one of The Beatles?
  10. Makes for pleasant reading. I think it will take a bit of a hit should Shelvey get banned. But I'm sure we will still manage to grind out quite a few wins over the 5-8 game period.

There was someone on there called "Ghost of Shinton." It was a long while ago. But used to have a similar posting style, I'm sure of it........ You were He was a star on there. "Shints is a canny lad marra. Shints is good craic for a mag, lyk." I used to post on there about 5 years ago, but it has actually managed to get worse and it really isn't worth the hassle. Complete shitstorm of a forum.

Im getting a bit p*ssed with folk wanting to pull me because this is my favourite thread, yet he same folk post quite a bit in it as well. Its a simple process on a forum , if you dont like it dont post, dont moan man , its the internet. Mag posts in Sunderland thead shock Can I ask why this is your favourite thread and not the numerous NUFC-related threads on here? Shinton is just bitter as he used to be the pet mag on RTG. He must have fell out with them all and now spends his days whining about them on here.
  13. I thought it was him saying he was close to being offside. Not sure why he was discussing it with the home fans, mind
  14. Has he ever said he prefers to play up top? I don't think that is his best position and I can't say I remember him playing there regularly or being 'lethal' up front? Didn't he have a good spell there during one of Pardew's winning runs, where he scored a few? I can't actually remember, TBH. But I genuinely didn't think he had played as a striker too often for us. He has played on the left, behind the striker and as a front man and he has looked good at different times in all of those positions. Hasn't really managed to make any of those positions his own, though and he seems inconsistent.
  15. Shows really nice flashes of skill and class. But not on a consistent basis. He seems to struggle to get away from players, often gets the ball tangled up under his feet and he also tends to want too many touches. He seems to run the ball into defenders and fails to get his head up. Something I wouldn't have said about him when he first came on the scene.

    Isaac Hayden

The two games I have been to this season (QPR and Cardiff) he has looked class, one of our best players. Think he has loooked really good on the televised/periscope games, as well. Great in the air, plays off both feet, moves the ball well and can stretch the play if needed. Not just a 5 yard, lay it off DM. Also has the physical ability to push on when needed. Not sure what madras thinks he can do a lot better?! 6/10
  17. Do they wipe the points after 10 years/seasons? I thought they did, as my mate and his family have 4 tickets with over 100 on. But he had been to less in recent years, due to the Pardew situation and his have gone down a fair bit, I believe.

  19. What is this god botherer stuff? Why are people that aren't concerned about god always worried about those that do man? So weird I'm not concerned about god, I'm concerned about those that believe in one. At one end of the spectrum they tell people how their lives should be lived, at the other end they behead people and fly planes into buildings. Im not religious but I'm sorry, that's wrong, people have every right to beleive in what they want, and just because a small minority do barbaric things, doesn't mean the others should should be looked down upon. A lot of atheists are just as bad, like somehow they are morally/intellectually superior for not being religious.
  20. Probably should have just ended your post there, TBH
  21. Again. Not saying that it is right or wrong, with one form of abuse being worse than the other. But I don't think that would stand up would it? "Yeah. Well he kept taking the piss about my baldness, only I heard it, though. So I snapped at the end of the game and called him a *insert racist word here.*" I'm sure someone mentioned that the FA have something ridiculous, like a 90 odd percent guilty rate when they charge a player. From what we have been told, it seems to be one player's word against another. Which is a dangerous precedent to set, should he be found guilty. I'm sure, or at least hope. That we will get more of the details, whatever the verdict. It's all just speculation at the minute.
  22. James. Injuries seem to have already improved under Rafa. I really don't get what your angle is here? You are using probably the most injury prone player in recent team history. To try and make some point about Catterson not being experienced enough in Football to do his job on his own?!?! Tenuous link at best Feel for Aarons. I've just come back from the same, but with a few optional extras thrown in. It isn't fun, the rehab is really boring and repetitive and whilst I only play at a decent amateur level and nowhere near pro, like Aarons. I have lost a lot of agility and power and I am contemplating packing in 11 a side. Obviously he'll get great medical treatment and his rehab will be spot on. But for someone who gets injured when the wind blows. It's a huge concern for him.
