  1. Fernandes looked good for Southampton. Thought he played as more of a 10 but he sits deeper for West Ham. Oh and LOL
  2. Decent side West Ham. As we found out
  3. I’m sure plenty of fans have been saying similar for the last month or two and it’s stayed ridiculously tight. Every team seems inconsistent bar the Goonbags.
  4. It won’t take much for teams to start moving up or down the league a good few places. 6 points from 4th to 12th. Even a mini bad run of form is going to see teams drop away. Probably why we shouldn’t overreact after this tough run of league games over the next month or so…… oh who am I kidding
  5. She’s gone for the Turkey teeth dentures. He went for Sugar Puff implants. Brushes his teeth with Colman’s Mustard.
  6. It’s going to be well annoying when the media make out what a great story Arsenal winning the league is and how they’ve broken City and Liverpool’s stranglehold on the league. Totally ignoring the billion quid they’ve spent and football that should see Arteta sent to the Hague to stand trial.
  7. Yeah. I remember our game there last season. He was happy to have a battle with Joelinton. Surprised he hasn’t played more, TBH.
  8. This thread is the absolute pits whenever there are no rumours. Which is most of the time
  9. He’s in my top 5 favourite NUFC players. Absolutely loved him when he was here. 3/10 or 9/10. But I didn’t care
  10. I’m sure McGinn is a massive help with the passes out from the back, too. Especially if he is drifting in from that wide position. Always gets his big arse in the way and draws a foul or manages to help the ball on and turn us around.
  11. Belter of a song, TBF. Can’t blame him
  12. Not that TCD is biased at all. Being a Real Madrid fanboy and all.
  13. Saw a clip of them in Popworld mid-afternoon yesterday. Having a right old rave
  14. Not many Braga fans there tonight.
  15. Transfermarkt have that down wrong. It looks like they have listed his red card and suspension as the injury for some reason. Like @Fak said. It was Fulham in mid-Jan when he injured his ankle. Was back straight away.
  16. We were saying a season or two ago Trippier struggles with too many games close together. This would be the 3 starts across the week, after just returning from injury. He is also suspect defensively and I think they’d target him. I don’t think he’s been good at all since returning, personally. He was decent last night. But they didn’t really attack with much intent. So hard to judge that one. Everyone did well last night, in fairness. I love Miley. But nobody is the natural replacement for Bruno. We don’t have one and not many teams would. He is still mostly safe and secure with his passing. But admittedly he is better on the ball than Tonali if he were to play the deeper role.
  17. Sounds like Onana will be back. But Kamara and McGinn are big players for them so I'm glad they'll be missing. Especially McGinn as he is infuriating to watch when your team is playing against him They like to play out from the back and are hardly going to sit in and defend. So the game setup should suit us again. We've often been good against them at SJP since Emery has been there, not bad away a couple of times, too despite the odd hammering. I'd like to see Miley back in at right back. Ramsey in the middle assuming Bruno is out. If Wissa is good to go again, then he should start. It's difficult for Howe with him coming back from injury and both Wissa and Woltemade costing so much. But I'm not sure rotating them too often is going to help either find form. I think Villa will score. But I reckon we can nick it 2-1.

I'd love to see the stats for the 'number of players dribbled past' for the last 3 games. I'm setting the over/under at 55.5
  19. He does. But also Man United in a bit of a mess (by their standards) or sunderland and their 'project' are not comparable. The former is still a far more attractive option FFS. If players like Mbeumo and Sesko would rather go there than play for us in the CL off the back of a cup win. Then why the fuck would they prefer sunderland as a destination?!
  20. It may have already been mentioned. But his touch for the first goal is a joke. He kills it dead with his studs and in the same motion, does his trademark stud roll over the top of the ball to get it out his feet, before playing in Joelinton. Looks so simple and you would expect elite footballers to have a decent first touch. But I think that could have fallen to a lot of players and the first touch would mean it didn't turn into a chance. Certainly not one as high quality as that.
  21. I just want somewhere where an away trip is doable and actually worthwhile. Not Turkey (sounds grim for away fans getting to the game) or Azerbaijan (trek). Marseille doesn't sound like much fun, either.

    Yoane Wissa

I don't see it. He was heavily involved in our pressing and he was a big reason why it worked so well. Dropping in to get on the ball, he looked miles better and more polished than previous games. He wasn't consistently having a poor touch or giving it away with a crap pass. I think he was only offside once? Big improvement I thought even outside of the goal and assist. He looked miles better and far more confident. Like the early goal did him the world of good and suddenly wasn't trying so hard, that he was playing all stiff and rigid. Although based on that picture after he scored. Maybe he was.
  23. I bet he thought he was being really clever and hilarious with his comparison to Nazi Germany What a terrible analogy.
  24. Definitely a yellow, like. I was surprised VAR didn't look at it. Especially after the red card Dortmund got on Tuesday. I'd argue this was 'worse' even if I don't think it was intentional or a red. Using slow mo's and still images at the point of contact is pathetic, mind. You can't be re-refereeing games based on that.
