  1. Hopefully Curtis Good can be that later in the season. I think its still too soon from him, I was thinking along the lines of a Tavernier, someone who has played quite a bit on loan but maybe at Championship level. Hope Good does turn out Good like We've come to expect better than that from you, Bimpy. You've not only let yourself down, you've let down the whole board, nay, the whole city with that terrible ending.

yep, making him our attacking coach. He certainly had the footballing brain. That'd be like being the sex ed coach at a nunnery.

Not at all. Hopefully we get kicked out of the FA cup for it. Agreed, we wouldn't want to risk winning something and jeopardising our scintillating premier league charge.
  4. Club are doing half season tickets sales again.

Before we have a distinct style and method of play throughout all levels we need to have one for the first team. The way we focus on stopping and countering the opposition means that we can't have our own distinct way of playing because we play different teams requiring different strategies every game. The number of times we change formation during games is symptomatic of this, we're trying to stifle the other team and nullify their gameplan rather than impose our own upon them. Until this changes we're fucked imo.
  9. Target man? Not what we need imo. His goalscoring record isn't too impressive either, just hope it's bullshit.

  11. I find it's easier just to stay up drinking until kick off. You're nice and rat arsed by the time the game starts so it doesn't seem quite so bad.

Or maybe he heard about Fergie's 'Siege mentality' and got the wrong end of the stick / took it a bit too far. I don't know, the whole thing is fucking nuts and getting weirder by the week.

I'm gonna look on the optimistic side and think maybe they've been trying something new he doesn't want people to find out about until we demolish Fulham with it.

A small squad is a major part of the problem. Other managers are doing better with less. And we've used about 30 players so far. Did many managers do better with less last season? Didn't think so. Time moves on. It's not last May. It wasn't so long ago that it is no longer relevant. It doesn't help us in our current situation. Falling from 5th to 14th should be cause for concern instead of dreaming about last season. But it's completely 'short termist' to overlook it. He worked brilliantly with a small squad last year and badly so far this year. On any sensible analysis of Pardew, you wouldn't then ignore last season's achievements. Equally you wouldn't ignore this season's shortcomings. And I haven't done so - I don't think anyone could. Unfortunately, key players being out of form, some injuries and suspensions haven't helped - things which we didn't have as much of last year. Those things are normal for a football team. It is equally valid to say that last season we were fortunate in our lack of these and this season, with a normal load of injuries, suspensions etc we are seeing a truer reflection of the squad and setup we have.

It's not that we can't or don't laugh at the unwashed in this situation, it's just that it's so much more fun when we're doing ok. Not least because it drives them to new levels of insanity. Newcastle and Sunderland have always took the p*ss out of each other club regardless of league placings.
