Can anyone access the league table at several points over the season? Would be interesting to see what the points difference was at it's largest.

Yannick Djalo? Linked alot last summer, always looked decent when I've seen him. Players in that league are famously payed low as well, so wouldn't cost the earth.

I'd prefer Clark tbh. At the minute anyway. Although, I think the tinkering with formations/systems was a lot to do with Dowie really. -
Overall reflections Done really well considering the inevitable soap opera every season. A real sense of determanation in the side, something we havn't had for years. Really happen with this current crop, think the club has genuinely gotten under their skin. The icing would be put on the cake if we could finish in the top half. High moment Nolan scoring his third against the Mackems to make it 5. After the abuse they had hoyed at us for 18 month, that felt so, so sweet. The noise in the stadium is something that will live with me forever. Low moment Hughton getting sacked, me convinced we were going to get Kinnear back. Really feared relegation then. Fair play to Pardew though Best player Coloccini by a million miles. As I said yesterday, our most important player bar none. Best individual performance Carroll v Villa. The game when we all knew he was going to be a special player. The big greasy bastard. Best buy Perch obviously. Most improved Tough one, between Simpson and Barton.

Building a team/squad around the core we already have
Chicken Dancer replied to Dave's topic in Football
Must keep: Enrique, Colo, Barton, Nolan, Tiote, Jonas, Ben Arfa, Forster. Squad players/First Teamers: Harper,Saylor,Williamson,Simpson,Raylor,Guthrie,Best,Shola,Lovenkrands,Lua Lua,Gosling, Kadar. Add five players to them and we're laughing. Don't rate Loven, Raylor and Shola as top players but they are good to add depth to the squad, especially as it's something we lack at the minute. Loan out: Ranger, Vuckic, Ferguson, Krul, Airey. This lot, particularly Ranger and Ferguson, need a spell we're they are consistently starting games. Would do Ranger the world of good IMO. -
Have they really only beat us 3 times in 20 years then

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Chicken Dancer replied to Pilko's topic in Football
If we were to buy him back, what would happen in relation to the sell on clause? Say we buy him for £20million, would he only cost £15million in reality? . Scam the bastards! -
Would rather not spunk a high chunk of a reported budget on Bridge. Probably cheaper and better in the Championship.
-
Not being funny but I would definately have him back. Imagine him and Ben Arfa in the same side man!

Krul Simpson Saylor Colo Jose Jonas Barton Jonas Fergie Shola Loven Soderberg, Gosling, Tavernier, LuaLua, Ameobi, Ranger, Best. 2-2, Shola and Jonas. -
All I got out of Mackems after the 5-1 was 'the league table never lies' for months and months. I would love to fucking finish above them, just to shut them up. Even if we don't, we still smashed the bastards 5-1.
-
Apparently they've been doing a Boro and fiddling the attendance figures. Few Mackem mate's of mine who were there said there was no where near 41k like.
-
Think everyone has accepted we"ve lost Jose now, peoplle say he's been loyal etc but remember he only stayed because no one wanted him, not because he chose too. But fair enough he's been fantastic since and good luck to him, just a shame he'll probably end up at Liverpool.
-
Snodgrass would do fine in the Prem, to say you need pace is a myth. Everytime I've seen him he's been probably a class above everyone on the pitch, has an elegance about him. And he's left footed and can take set pieces. For £3million(ish) he's worth a go.

Gutted we don't find out what happend.

With that gangly physique, he doesn't look a natural penalty-taker at all. I can only put his success down to him being a natural optimist. He approaches the penalty spot in the right frame of mind, like Le Tiss used to do. I always still get scared when he takes one as well. But the Ipswich one was at the Leazes IIRC. Butt went down, everyone thought he was going to take it.
-
I'd go for Snodgrass personally. Can't be that expensive and definately better than Puncheon who we will end up with.
-
Think you could be right Crumpy. Snodgrass is the name I'm hearing from persons who new him when at Livingston. I'd definately have Snodgrass, and probably Gradel.

Yeah not bad, I'll check the price at work tommorow, see what it's like there. Told myself I'd not bet again this season, like. -
Anyone seen that video of Pardew using the word rape on MOTD2 once ?
