I’m really trying to not be bothered about this but since Rafa has gone, the takeover looks sketchy and now we’re going for Bruce it’s like the whole connection that has been rebuilt with the fans and the hope that was generated under Rafa has been unfairly taken from us again. Honestly wish I didn’t care but I’ve really enjoyed the last 3 seasons, even the hard bits. Watching those players graft in a high level system and the belief Benitez was going continue to improve us - even under Ashley and it’s gone. Now we’re staring down the barrel at Steve Bruce and some god awful football.

Realistically can anyone see is not going down? We were on the verge a few times last season where a poor result could have spiralled. We’re now significantly weaker and without a manager. Anything short of a takeover and some late investment whoever Ashley appoints is doomed to fail.

Probably due to the way things have been lately but I’ve interpreted that negatively.

Seeing and speaking to a few people not giving up their ticket or supporting the protest because “it’s pointless” and they “don’t want to lose the points”. Baffled by it. I know it isn’t an easy decision and I wouldn’t hold it against anyone if they couldn’t give us their ticket if they really didn’t want to but at the very least I don’t see any reason why there should be a single fan in the ground for the Arsenal game.

£30m is a fair price for him. I’m pleased he managed to prove the doubters wrong and turn himself into an intelligent player with end product. There is so little left to like about us it’s hard to see why anyone would ruin their career here.

Surely there’ll be a huge fee involved? I can see him doing well at Leicester actually. No Rafa, Rondon or Perez? Relegation is pretty much nailed on isn’t it?

I didn’t accept that reasoning with Carroll either. If he doesn’t want to leave he doesn’t accept the buying clubs terms as he stays here. What would we have done with Carroll or Longstaff let him rot in the reserves? No chance.

It seems pointless talking about stuff like this given the situation but I’m not entirely against having a proper scouting networking and someone like Carr responsible for bringing in promising players assuming there can be a balance. We used to invest in young players to develop (albeit to sell on) and left shit managers in charge of them. Then we actually get a world class coach and give him next to nothing, it’s absolute madness.

A bit emotional watching all of the Rafa clips and images doing the rounds on twitter. He made me believe in us again and now he’s gone without a shred of dignity from our owners. I think this is probably the worst/hardest time I’ve seen as a supporter. Both relegations seemed to have a silver lining whereas we’ve got nothing to look to now. It’s takeover or bust. Not that I believe the story our favoured media partner are pedalling but... is it wrong that if it is true I’m already a little worried about the BZG group. I can’t think of a single valid reason why you wouldn’t want Rafa.
