  1. Good that motd2 lineup was dreadful, stayed up to watch following our win and just ended up annoyed
  2. I knew Steve Crossman a bit growing up and still weirds me out hearing his voice on radio. If he gets MotD will totally freak me out

    Joelinton

If Guardiola was fielding Joelinton it would have been called a 'false midfielder' or something and some tactical masterstroke. I think he's been better in the middle than some give credit for but its not quite his best. He sits somewhere half way between a left sided central midfielder box to box type and a winger. He somehow remains influential and involved in the general play despite theoretically being up on the wing. He's massively tactically flexible without complaint or without willingness to do all the dirty work of whatever position he finds himself in
  4. Going to take a wild punt it was Jose himself
  5. I'm glad he's playing better. He gets such hate maybe because when he's bad he is incredibly frustrating in possession but some do act like he doesn't have that higher gear.
  6. Anderson is a funny one. Until last season he was essentially a no 10 in a quite old fashioned (now) way, not enough pace to play out wide, not strong enough to play in the middle of a 4-3-3 and as such pretty uncommon site in the premier league, and hence why he always was going to struggle to get starting spot with us. Then he seemed to be a bit bulkier and was tried in that midfield 3 and for a moment thought may add that technical edge we sometimes lack, but he unfortunately just didn't produce a huge amount. I can see him being fine for Forest, you sometimes want that technical player in the middle in counter attacking teams to be that pivot to launch attacks, but in Howe ball you need to impose yourself and bully the opposition which he never really did
  7. Forest seem to be doing something that happens every now and then when a manager gets a decent set of players and doesnt over think things sets them up fairly solid and has some exciting players and it does very well. It's not grind it out, it's not regressive or anything it's just also not super 'cunning' or anything, and it will do alright and then the players will get sold and it won't sustain. They've done very well, but Chris Wood won't sustain that many goals I suspect, but it's not a cunning trap it's a solid team overperforming currently a bit, it'll even out probably.
  8. I get what you're saying he's got issues but he still scores and assists loads, clearly outstanding. The big concern is for a bunch of seasons how much he played every minute for arsenal at such a young age that he was perpetually knackered
  9. Poor going forward but not as bad as some on here. they should be down to 10 and we should have had at least 1 pen. Shit happens.
  10. Get rid of Moyes cos they don't like the football, hire the spanish david moyes, complain about the football, hire Mourinho. Feels about right for West Ham tbh
  11. I would have to be convinced he isn't a completely spent force. His Spurs were rubbish to watch and not exactly producing results.
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/nov/08/jose-mourinho-wants-newcastle-if-eddie-howe-leaves?CMP=share_btn_url He can fuck right off. Would be a terrible terrible appointment even if Howe somehow implodes completely
  13. Watching motd2 ruud van nistleroy gives strong ben affleck playing Bruce Wayne vibes
  14. Can't get out of my head the guardian pointing out he looks like a young alan bennet (right)
  15. Why did Gordon think he had unlimited time there???
  16. I think it reflects football fans being a bit more nerdy now and valuing technical midfielders more than flair attackers thanks to so much of the coverage being on 'genius tactical managers' and tactics so of course the players everyone loves moves towards players like Rhodri and Modric. I do think the trend definitely means there are a lot less high quality flair attackers as managers care less about them now. Ancelotti may the last great coach who sees it his job to make all his star players happy and fit them on the pitch somehow. Young player coming through who can listen to complicated tactical instructions and keep up technically with the other players is going to get into the first team quicker than someone who does nothing half the match but occaisionally scores a worldie. It's also just an award, like all others, always going to be more people unhappy than happy with it. Real Madrid's reaction has been spectacularly petty
  17. I'd still far prefer him to stay there are benefits too patience and we know he can set us up well but so disappointing we haven't bounced back following last season. Whoever is too blame the shit transfer window fucked this season. That stupid Australia tour may have fucked conditioning up a bit too. The players seem half as interested. You have got to change things continuously to keep teams fresh and i am not sure howe understands that...
  18. Completely. I get why howe was annoyed at that comment but staverley and howe did very well for first few windows but it was clearly mad work load and it diminished a bit and ashworth wasn't able to get howe to step back enough. Can't afford another window like summer. Even with psr plenty of clubs have spent less money than we bid for guehi on bunch of players. It's absolutely hamstrung us. I'm not saying howes to blame really think was collective fuck up but could cost howe his job if we don't improve.
  19. Harsh to say downfall he can be stubborn but equally he may just be rubbish.
  20. The wayward passing is the most infuriating
